All of Reggie's fans will miss him, but of course not anything like those who really knew him and loved him the most; his family and friends. I became a fan of Reggie, when my son Tyler (now 16) recognized Reggie as his hero when he was 6 years old. I write with tears as I tell you that I couldn't ask for a better man for my son to admire while he was growing up. And for that, I will always be grateful to Reggie White. I began watching TBN (Trinity Broadcasting Network) in 1991, and have been able to hear Reggie White ministering more than once. I want to use this opportunity to praise God for sharing this man's life with all of us. I can't say enough how important it is for our children and anyone for that matter, to have role models with godly principals and a life style that reflects those principals. Growing up, my hero was Mr. T. And I still love him! I want to thank Reggie's family for sharing the man they love with the world. I believe the world was a better place because of him and many like him. I cry when I think about what Reggie left behind for all of us. His values will continue in the hearts that he reached and touched for God. God knew Reggie did all that He asked him to, and has him called home. I am sure he will hear "well done" from our Lord. Reggie broke my son's heart on the morning of Dec. 26th, when I had to break the news to him as I woke him up. I made a tribute to Reggie for Tyler in his bedroom windows, which still read: WHITE in one window and #92 in the other. We both shared tears together as we will miss the man who brought such inspiration into both of our lives. Thank you Reggie White! And we payed tribute to Reggie again, by asking God to comfort his family and to grow the love for God in their hearts that Reggie had, and now beholds.~ |
