I Always wanted a 1986 Mustang but not a Svo I wanted a 86 GTw/ T-tops. I told myself I would never own a 4 banger mustang, My oldest Brother had a 89 4banger DAM that thing was so slow and it broke down all the time. Well Mom and Dad knew I wanted a V8 Stang, Because my older (Not My Oldest) Brother had one and I loved to drive it. But they said they didn't want me to have a 5.0 Mustang Well S*%# I said, Now I thoght I would be smart and get a 4 banger Stang and swap a 5.0 in after awhile. Well, while I was looking for the perfect 4cyl I came across this 86 Svo. I knew they had a Turbo 4cyl in them. But I was still thinking (4 Banger = Slow) So I went and looked at it. The car was a present for this guys son for having good grades. (well his grade were going down) So up for sale it went I bought it on 5/16/99 so about 2 years ago I paid a wopping 3500.00 It was it great condition, Body was straight, paint was original and in pampered condition. The interior looked like the car was driven alot. and the odometer confermed it. it read 85,489 and thats were it stoped I thought to myself thats not that bad for a 1986 Model Car, Well the guy told me the guy that had it before him said it was Stopped in the same place when he got it and he estimated he put about 80-100K more miles. So I guess it had around 200K+Miles.(Great) I Bet it would run like crap. |

Well guess what it started right up on the first shoot and it was idling at 800 rpm's and when I fliped the a/c on the motor picked up to 1000 rpm's but never missed a beat and then boy is got cold fast. I then took it out for a test drive and well it drove like a 4cyl I wasn't to inpressed I mean it was dam slow. I was driving it like a normal person. Well when i turn the Conner there was a Honda Civic with coffie can for a muffler, wild paint job and a powered by NOS sticker on the windows The guy that owned the svo said let him have it. Well little did I know that when you drive normal in these cars the turbo never comes in to play and I really didn't know that much about turbo cars (Infact this was the frist time in one) Well when we got to the next stop I tached the engine up to 5000rpm's beause I was thinking I need as much Rpm as I could to get the little engine to make a 3000 lb car take off fast.. I Can tell you one thing I should have left at about 4000 or less because OH MAN, I almost S*%* Myself that dam thing took off mighty strong it roosted the tire for a good 20ft before the tire hooked. 1st went fast then to 2nd at 5500 with alittle chirp then to 3rd at 5500 and this time i heard the tire squeal, I won well at the next stop the guy in the civic said what do you have NOS on that v-6 Oh man i just had to smile. Well I did alittle more driving but as you can see I have a 1986 Mustang just like I wanted but this is a Svo like i never thought I would ever have. I love them so much that I bought another one this one it a 1984, there is no story about this one i went and looked at it didn't drive it just put it on the tralier and took it home. |
