1) Well Lets See > First Mod Was a New harmnic balancer, Because the rubber fell out of it the next day after i bought the car. ( I'm Glad it did it after i bought the car i would have past it up the vibration was so bad at idle the tail-pipe were bouncing off the bottom of the car . 2) All the car had was a mac cat-back and a mac cold air pipe. 3) First real mod was an Mac H-pipe no cats. With just what came on the car and the h-pipe, My stang pulled down 26mpg going up to Georgia doing 75-80mph all the way up. but on the way back I used Crusie contral almost all the way and got 28mpg I check it 3 times OH and it has 2.73 gear out back. Who needs a Honda 4) My next mod was Exhaust Again (car sound like a truck YUCK ) Changed from a H-pipe to a X-pipe ( X-pipe give a raspier sound and are alittle quieter ) And a Set of the New Borla Pro XS With Dumps. My Brother had XR-1 Race Mufller one his old stang and i loved the way they sounded. He talked me into the Pro XS's there great sounding mufflers real nice raspy sound but way to queit for me. So I Traded My brother for his Flowmaster that came on his new car ( 1991 GT Auto ) Don't Get me Wrong Flowmasters Sound Good, But Everyone Has them. Plus I'm a Borla guy and will alway be one. I will be puting XR-1 on y car as so a i get the money. If you guys have been on my site when i owned My 86 SVO you know i have to have the exhaust sound just RIGHT or i'm not happy 5) Converted to 5-lug in the rear, Was rebuilding the Rearend Moser 28spline axles, new clutches, 10sec tested 3.73 gear (used out of a friends car ) Story on his car (Click Here ) and Steeda 2.5" speed studs nice . Ford Ranger 9-1/2" rear drums i used a set of Svo wheels that i had left over. For the front i used 5-lug linclon Mark 7 rotors ( Same as Svo rotors ) 6) Next I swap to a 3G alternator very esay swap ( will have a link on swap soon) 7) Time to change the trans fluid, BIG TIP if your unsure on the transmision service history don't change the filter or the fluid unless you plan on put a new trans in it. After i did the fluid change the tran slip bad wasn't sliping before i was just tring to keep it mantained (SHIT) Well i kinda got luck a friend had an AOD that just got pulled out of his stang ( it shifted good i drove it ) 8) Well i wasn't going to just put the a stock trans back in it So since i had to pull the trans Time to beef it up So i called Up Lentech Automatic and Order up the 12" non-lock up converter and there AOD Street Termiator Valve Body Cal # 2 with the electic OD Delete , Intsall was esay. First drive was awsome normal drive was nice a soft but if you manual shift is very quick and almost as hard as my Brother C-4 in his old car. Well once Again Big Tip if the trans is out spend the money to get it rebuilt the trans lasted a good 2 months the i all at one on the highway it just quit even stalled the engine when it let go. Not one Gear worked. later found out the front pump gave out. 9) Now i have about 2000.00 total in trans work. Had a Local performance shop Mega Max tranmission in Davie Florida Build me an BEEFED AOD, Low gear set, A+ servos, X-tra cluthes and it came witha baulaman shift kit installed. shift is great with the shift kit brothers stang has the same trans . Also i changed to a Edge 9.5" 2800 stall nothing wrong with the lentech Converter just wanted more stall. 9) Next up Long tube headers. Hooker 1.5" (1-1/2" ) part number 6121HKR ) I had them left over from my brother's car they were about 10years old. They fit great but the were so brittle after about a month they started to leak. I was going to buy a new set of them but now they cost over $400.00 for get that back when my brother got them for his they were $289.00 So i bought a set of cheep Hedman 1-5/8" they were all one peace So to install them you need to lift the engine on the pass side other than that they are good deal for a $100.00 Side Note I put the Long tubes on the car with the Borla Pro XS and it made the car queiter 10) Ford Contor Electric fan, Wire upe to a Flex-A-lite VRS fan controler and a 30amp Relay for the 2nd fan (will have picture soon) 11) rest of my mod are Keanana 4" Cowl hood Now a UPR Cold Air kit C&L 73mm mass and 24lb injectors BBK 65mm Throttle Body Extrude Hone Cobra upper and Lower and my most recent mod 1998 Cobra Rims 17x8" with 245/45/17's at all corners |
