Past
- I was born and raised in Salinas, Ca.
Anyone who's read anything by John Steinbeck should recognize the name.
I am, however, not a fan. I've read a lot of his books, and I just do not
like his writing style.
- My father (who was originally from Quebec, Canada) will be 69 this coming April, and my mother (orignially from Bohol, Philippines) will be 58 this coming May. I hope one older sister who just turned 24 in February. My parents have been divorced since I was about 11. My sister has Downs Syndrome. I guess that's a somewhat odd family situation to grow up in, but it's all I know. Most of my grandparents died before I was born, but they're all gone now. Most of my extended family lives outside the country, so we're pretty much alone here.
- I had an entirely catholic, private education, going back as far as
pre-school. My high school(Palma High), which was also my middle school, was exclusively male. We had an exclusively female sister school down the street called Notre Dame.
- I'm gay, just in case anybody didn't already know that. I came out to my mother when I was 16. Well, she actually asked me if I was gay, so it wasn't terribly difficult. I came out to most everyone else when I was 18.
- Coming out of high school, I enrolled in Santa Clara University in the field of Psychology. It took me about a year-and-a-half to realize I hated the people, the academics, and pretty much everything else about being there. So I dropped out. I took a year off, and I transfered into UC Santa Cruz.
Present
- I am
currently enrolled in UC Santa Cruz as a proposed Sociology major. Technically, I kind of hate it. But I'm more here for the atmosphere than the academics. I live in the Porter dorms.
- I'm into a lot of music, which includes Muse, Sigur Ros, Super Furry Animals, Postal Service, Coldplay, Deathcab for Cutie, Howie Day, Decemberists, Bright Eyes, and lots of other stuff. I also admit to playing M:tG; I'm not saying I'm very good, but I do play. I also play video and computer games like the Sims, Warcraft, DOA, Soul Calibur, and Final Fantasy. My favorite authors include Terry Pratchett, Mercedes Lackey, and David Sedaris. I like a lot of cartoons and tv shows, but most of the stuff I like tends to get cancelled, Invader Zim and Wonderfalls for instance.
Future
- I have absolutely no idea. I'm not the kind of person who plans their life in advance.
