Follow On Heb 3:14For we are made partakers of Christ, if we hold the beginning of our confidence stedfast unto the end; We show what happens to us inside by following the example of Jesus Christ and being physically baptized in water. (Matt 3:15-16, Acts 2:38 and Acts 8:36-38) Matt 16:24Then Jesus said to His disciples, "If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me. Jesus gave the parable of the sower in the gospels. We see four results of the seed being sown on the ground. The best result being that of the seed taking root and bringing forth much fruit. The lesser case being of the seed growing up but becoming unfruitful. The next case of the seed briefly taking root and then dying has been compared to a professing Christian. That is, someone who started out as a Christian but did not follow through. The last case being that of the seed being sown but not taking root. In all instances of the sowing, the seed, which can be compared to the Word of God, had the same potential power. The difference lay in the soil. That is to say, the individual has choices that will affect the seed sown in their life. Corrections and adjustments can be made in our lives. An unfruitful life can become fruitful. A professing Christian can become a fruitful Christian. A lost person can be saved through Jesus Christ! As long as we are in the land of the living, let us say yes to Jesus in every area of our life! This brings us to the person who delivers the seed and waters the ground. God uses Christians to preach the Word and lead others to receive Jesus Christ as Savior. The apostle Paul recognized the part of intercession (prayer) in the new birth of a believer. (Gal 4:19) Each new Christian has to be attached to a local fellowship of believers where they can be nurtured and grown into strong Christians. The seed planted in our vies can be grown into a large tree that in turn brings forth much fruit (Psa 1:2,3) Matt 4:19Then He said to them, "Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men." May we as Christians always be about our Master's business: Matt 28:19-20"Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20"teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age." Amen. May we always be preaching and living the Word of God so that Jesus is there working with us and confirming the Word with signs following.(Mark 16:15-20) |
