Something Faded

Said hello to the girl as the door closed behind,

"My name is yours, can you tell me the time?"

Work just got out, closed out the day’s events, and then to my surprise.

She took my hat, told me a joke. It’s not so funny when you are that guy.

What the day fade to night.

People’s eyes full of fright, I know.

He said my hearts full of sorrow, wait until tomorrow,

As he sipped casually from his glass of wine.

                                       Give the man a cigarette, you bet he’s full of regret; his baby was                            

                                                                                      born today.
