Goodnight Seattle - 3 Years On
Goodnight Seattle is now 3 years old, and so once again it is time to reflect over the past year of the site.
Due to my exams, the site was not updated in December apart from an Advent Calendar which I changed every day. Things resumed to normal after my exams were over though. A further "quiet time" occurred during the summer when due to holidays etc I would only updated 3 or 4 times a month. Again, things are now back to normal.
The revamp of the site continued, and now all the pages except for the Seasons 4-7 guides have now been revamped. The Home Page was actually revamped twice, since people were not happy with the first revamp, so I did it again. They (and I) liked it much better. J Some new information was added to the Actor profiles with the revamp, including birthdates for Harriet Sansom Harris and Patrick Kerr, and spouses and children (if any) of the cast. The Character pages have also been kept up to date, and new characters such as Julia Wilcox and Leland Barton were added to the Other Characters page.
Season 10 came and went, and the guides for the 24 episodes were the first to be made in the new format rather than converted. About half of them have a picture to go with them, and I am still searching for the rest. . My thoughts and comments on each episode were placed on the Message Board, which has attracted new members and grown quite a bit. When Season 11 started in the USA, Goodnight Seattle was (mostly) up to date with the latest information, and a new forum for the season was added to the Message Board.
The Lists and References section was probably the most updated of the year. The Episode Title References page attracted a lot of input from fellow fans, and thanks to watching Cheers I have been able to add lots of information to the Timeline page! A Wordsearch has also been added to the section for your enjoyment. The main addition has been the Poll Results page – because I added a poll to the website! It’s changed every couple of weeks or so, so the Result page has had quite a few updates.
The Fan Fiction section has been quite quiet this year, with only a few new stories, but I soon hope to rectify that. J I have a few ideas in the making, but I’m not saying anything else right now!
That’s it for this year. By our 4th birthday, the series will be over, but Goodnight Seattle will still be around as the world’s favourite site for the world’s favourite comedy.
