Goodnight Seattle - 4 Years On

The series is over. After 20 years (9 on Cheers and 11 on Frasier), the character of Dr Frasier Crane has now signed off from TV. However, Goodnight Seattle is not going anywhere, even if recently the updates have not been that regular!

Over the past year, lots of pages have been created or altered for the final time. As the show came to an end, so the episode guide was completed. Pages such as Roz's Love Life etc are now also complete. As such, since May there have not been that many updates to the site - usually one every 2 or 3 weeks. This is a trend that will be continuing in the foreseeable future - not because I don't want to update the site, but because there isn't much to update!

But before the finale aired, the site was updating almost every week with the Season 11 episode guides. Channel 4 again moved the show, this year it was on at Wednesdays at 11.05pm. Due to my university times, the site would mostly be updated on the weekend. University did get in the way for a while - even though I do enjoy myself there! - exams forced me to not update the site during most of May, and occasionally assessments got in the way as well.

The episode guides also had a new feature - the polls. My initial poll on the front page was so successful that I decided to give each episode a poll of its own. So far, Seasons 1, 2, 3 and 11 have these polls, and I hope to get 8, 9 and 10 "polled up" soon as well. Seasons 4-7 have not been forgotten - they are still in the old style of episode guides, so converting those will take some time. But hopefully, by our 5th birthday everything will be all up to date!

Other new features over the past year included the Character Profiles of new Season 11 characters such as Charlotte or Ronee Lawrence, who eventually became "promoted" to the Main Characters section (as in, she had her own page rather than being on the Other Characters page. Kate Costas was also "demoted" as I felt that other, more important characters did not have their own pages, and she did. The Character Profiles were also rewritten and updated. Each now has the history of the character, then a section about their personality.

I also added a new page to the site, once the series was over, entitled "My Favourite Frasiers" where I chose my favourite episode from each season with my reasons for choosing them. Maybe I will also do my "Top 20", although that will be a very hard job! 2 new fanfictions also debuted on the site over the past year.

Goodnight Seattle will probably be not that much different on our 5th birthday as we are at our 4th, due to the series being over, but one thing will not change. This site will always be there for any Frasier fan who might want to read about an episode, or see who played someone, or read the list of all the men Roz slept with! Happy 4th birthday Goodnight Seattle. :-)
