Goodnight Seattle - 5 Years On
After the site's 4th birthday, I wrote, "Goodnight Seattle will probably be not that much different on our 5th birthday as we are at our 4th...". In many ways, I was correct, but in others, very very wrong.
Updates have been few and infrequent this year, for which I do apologise - the lack of new episodes, plus commitments elsewhere such as my job or university, have meant I have had hardly any time whatsoever to dedicate to the site. Most of them were slight updates or corrections to exisiting pages, although I did completely revamp some pages. The Frequently Asked Questions page was revamped, making it much easier to understand, and a lot more quetsions were added to it as well. I also added a link directly from the home page to make it more accesible - it seems to have worked as the numebr of e-mails I recieved asking the common questions has dropped rapidly. :-)
Polls were added to the Season 3 episode guides, and they also had photographs from the DVDs added to them. Many trivia notes on the guides were corrected or added making the guides much more up to date. A new fan fiction, a crossover with Sabrina the Teenage Witch, also appeared in the New Year.
The biggest change to the site though has arrived just in time for the 5th birthday! For the first time ever, I've completely revamped the site rather than just changing a page layout here and there. The site has a completely new look - the HTML is much better, I'm using stylesheets, and I have added lots of other little gizmos to make the site better. Currently only the main pages have been transferred to the new style, but over the next few months I will turn every page into the new style.
The new features on the site also include a form to contact me at my new e-mail address, without actually revealing what the address is - hopefully that should cut down on the vast amount of spam I recieve. It also means that e-mails are now guaranteed to reach me - beforehand many didn't due to all my spam filters.
That's the 5th year all done now, with a fresh new look to celebrate. Hopefully by next year the revamping will have long been complete, and the site will be mush easier to maintain.
Happy 5th birthday GNS.
