In fact it's rumoured that the reason that the corridors in C-Block Goodricke college are not plastered (only painted breeze blocks) is that if they had plastered them, the width of the corridor would be so narrow as to contravene fire regulations. But that might just be one of those campus myths. Goodricke C block is commonly known as "Alcatraz."   ...."

Funny games from: Past inhabitants of the block

"......  Sea gulls frequently visit the central lake. They are also known to be skillful enough to catch meat/fish thrown vertically up in the air. They simply swoop down on the food thrown. Some Goodricke C student  used to throw food up the front wall of the building in the hope of seeing a few sea gulls crash their beak in the wall. Unfortunately, the birds proved adroit and managed to grab the food and avoid the wall  ...."

Perfect Crime from: A temporary resident during the Easter hols

"......  Elementary my dear Watson! Not always according to this true murder story: The information leaks directly from the Goodricke porters lodge. In 1994, a crime was committed in Wentworth (A-block?) but the weapon used, a knife, couldn't be found, even though the police searched everywhere. The murderer is suspected to have thrown the knife in the lake and it is still lying there, somewhere under the layers of duckshit ...."

"......  It's rumoured that a huge mother-spider (too big to creep out of its hideout) lays millions of eggs in a tunnel located beneath the ground floor toilets of the block. Each summer these baby spiders choose a target and wrap it in a huge cocoon. Spooky ...."
