| That Special Bird |
| One day I saw a bird. |
| Then another bird came and another bird came. |
| Birds came after birds one by one following each other. |
| They all landed on a tree in front of my house. |
| Soon all the birds were there, singing. |
| I was too afraid to go out because I might scare them away. |
| Days past and the birds came back to the same tree and sang the same song. |
| I knew they wouldn't be scared of me, so I went out to take a closer look at the birds. |
| One bird came up to me and landed on my finger. |
| Soon I realized that this was the first bird to land on the tree. |
| My mom came outside and knew that I just loved these birds. |
| She wouldn't want a bird nest in her house so she told me to pick one bird. |
| It was a hard and easy choice. |
| All the birds were good but I knew the one on my finger would be the best. |
| I made my mind up soon. |
| I chose the one on my finger. |
| All the other birds thought that were a good idea. |
| I named that bird Speckle. |
| Speckle and I were best friends and lived a happy life. |
