What are Pokemon?

Pokemon are monsters that live in a fantasy world where they share it with humans. There are 150 species of Pokemon so far with different names and different looks. Some humans capture, train, and fight with them against other Pokemon Trainers like them. There is a TV show, a card game and toys galore all featuring these creatures. Some Pokemon evolve. Example : Charmander evolves into Charmeleon. When this happens, Pokemon get stronger and gain new moves. Pokemon learn new moves and get stronger when the fight against other Pokemon. Pokemon are carried in tiny balls called Pokeballs. When one wants to capture a Pokemon, they throw a Pokeball and whether or not that Pokemon is hurt or not, the Pokeball will capture the Pokemon inside. The Pokemon are somehow shrunk and kept inside. Pokemon can't speak human talk (one exception) so they say their name repeatly like so in the case of the Pokemon called Pikachu: Pika! Pika-pika-chu....

Ash wants to beat them so he can recieve badges that help him get to being a Pokemon Master. But this wouldn't be a good show unless their were some bad guys. Team Rocket, a duo that has a very catchy chant, wants Ash's Pokemon called Pikachu and will do almost anything for it.
