| The next morning, Racetrack tried to forget about the night before, it was a brand new day. Race got his papers with everyone as usual and told the guys that he was going to the track, but instead he snuck away to Tibby's. He walked into Tibby's and sat by the bar and waited for Stella to appear. When she walked through the door right away she noticed Race and hesitated to take another step. Race didn't want her to runaway from him again so right away he stood up and said, "Look Stella, I don't want you to be afraid, I just want ya to know who I am, just incase you get yourself inta trouble." Stella was confused, "Why do you care? Why can't you just leave me alone?" "Just cuz", Race replied, "Why won't ya trust me? Ya know I aint gunna hurt ya." "You wanna know why?" Stella said, "Would you trust someone you aint know? |
| Who has been following ya? Look I don't know you, I don't wanna know you! Yous know who I am, and it seems everywhere I go your there and that scares me, so just please, just leave me alone!" She quickly turned around and started to walk away. "You wanna know who I am? I'm Racetrack is dat betta?" Race screamed after her, "Now will ya talk to me?" Stella stopped in her tracks and turned slowly to face Racetrack, "Your name's Racetrack?" "Yeah, why is dat a problem?" Race asked curiously. "I get off of work at 8:00 meet me here and we'll talk", she smiled and walked away. Race was very confused, "Why so suddenly did she decide that I could be trusted. Was is something I said or did?" Race thought to himself. Race left Tibby's and ended up running into Kid Blink. "I thought yous were goin to da track today?" Blink asked. Race looked up at Blink, "There was a change in plans, I stopped in at Tibby's for somethin to drink, that's all. Oh, and I also ran into that Stella girl again, I'm meeting her here tonight." "Ohhhhhh I see", as Blink nudged Race's arm and smiled. Race looked at Blink and laugh, "It aint like that." "That's what they all say", replied Blink, "Have fun!" as Blink walked away with a grin on his face. |
