Number Six, No, Seven, No, Six, No, Seven
By Gordon Mei (June 12, 2002)

In the beginning, God created the heavens. It was good. Then He created light and darkness, day and night, the Earth and the moon, the sky and the sea, and the creatures and plants that roamed that planet. It was good. It was ideal. It was an intricate system that worked itself out in a beautiful system of equilibrium. It was...perfection.

But one day, the very next day more precisely, God decided that his microcosm of perfection needed to have some mark or symbol that proved that it was God who created this marvel, and not Bob or Sue or Al. It was because this decision that God caught himself in a difficult dilemma. God grabbed His might pen and wrote a list of possibilities to consider for his signature for His creation. Among His top ideas were a seventy light year banner between two identical spiral galaxies, an enormous G over the Milky Way galaxy, or two golden arcs between Earth and the Sun. He agonized over the decision for hours upon hours until... The perfect idea came to his mind. Why create just one commemorative symbol when he could create an additional creature similar to himself that would regenerate rapidly? It would expand exponentially in numbers across the world and remind the world of its Creator.

Thus, on the sixth day, God created something in His own image. It was a something He called man.

God, however, made a fatal mistake in creating this last minute addition to his balanced system. The addition of human beings nearly immediately started ripping apart the intertwined connections in the system that made God’s creation of everything so stable in equilibrium. Thus, chaos entered the world that had been created so perfectly, and it began tearing everything apart.

God, being the perfect, almighty being that he is, couldn’t let anybody think badly of him. Hence we witnessed the creation of an evil, antagonistic force to be the scapegoat of God’s huge boo boo. This force would be led by the next guy to come around pissing God off. There was this angel named Lucifer.
