| When Allan and May are told that they have been chosen to be joint God for a week, they think the Archangel Gabriel must be a con man selling them insurance. But it comes to pass and makes surprisingly little difference to their lives. This is a fun play for four actors - a middle-aged couple and their drunken daughter, Jesse and, of course, the Archangel Gabriel himself. ACE Theatre had fun with it in 1998 and won a handful of prizes at festivals. And the challenge of making, safeguarding and wearing the wings was worth an award for persistence and courage. Runs about 35 minutes. |
