In October of 2003, Gordon Productions presented an encore presentation of MY WAY - A MUSICAL TRIBUTE TO FRANK SINATRA, our hit revue featuring the music that Frank Sinatra made famous. The show, which was a co-production with the Springfield Theatre Centre, featured over 50 songs made famous by “Ol’ Blue Eyes,” including “The Lady is a Tramp,” “That's Life,” “Fly Me To The Moon,” and many, many more!
MY WAY starred Mary Jo Curry, Gus Gordon, Steve Williams, Cynda Wrightsman and the Jane Hartman Trio (Jane Hartman, Gene Haas and Rich Olson). Gus Gordon directed, with choreography by Gary Shull, vocal direction by Bill Bauser, Jr.
Sinatra said that the secret to his success was “to sing good songs.” MY WAY offers some of the greatest music of the 20th century written by such composers and lyricists as Cole Porter, Sammy Cahn, Jimmy Van Heusen, Jule Styne, Cy Coleman, Antonio Carlos Jobim, Richard Rodgers and Lorenz Hart.
According to David Grapes and Todd Olson, the creators of the show, “ the goal of MY WAY has always been to construct a musical revue that recalls the essence of the man through the glorious music he sang. The show celebrates Sinatra’s mystique, and his myth, through the music he loved best - the American standard.”
MY WAY - A MUSICAL TRIBUTE TO FRANK SINATRA was presented at STC October 17-19 & 23-26. The Springfield Theatre Centre is located at 101 East Lawrence Avenue in Springfield, Illinois. MY WAY was sponsored by Praire Heart Institute.
