Excellent Sydney band combining the finest elements of dark, blackened doom and thundering death metal, incorporating swirling melodies and timely injections of keys with crushing riffs and an awesome vocal presence. The band's earliest demo featured a different line-up to that which featured on the debut EP: Vickery, Lauren Marsh (keys), Owen Richards and Chad Halford (guitar) and Andrew Creed (drums). Natalie from Rok's solo band joined Decayed Divinity as replacement for Richards, who quit just before an interstate tour, but her stay was short. Early in 2001 Lee Tassaker from Lycanthia joined the band on bass, leaving Vickery as specialist vocalist. By late in 2001 Marsh, Creed and Halford had all left the band, leaving the line-up above and Decayed Divinity’s style had shifted into Swedish melodic death metal territory. A full length album was to be released through Venomous Records but the label collapsed; Vickey joined Bludgeoner in 2002 and Decayed Divinity is no more.
