ENCABULOS

Adam Kelly (vocals); Steve Hull (guitar); Michael Stewart (bass); Adam Hull (drums)

Encabulos rumbled out of Geelong with all the technical brutality of the modern grindcore death metal band. The band formed in 1995 with Rob Benzies on vocals, though he was replaced by Kelly in 1997 in time for their first demo. Embracing a particularly violent style in the mould of Suffocation and Deeds of Flesh, Encabulos came to the attention of US grind label Razorback, who included them on a compilation album, and Sydney label Venomous thanks to their thunderous second demo. A debut EP was released that was followed by a small scale tour with Psychrist and Deluge in early 2000 and a Metal for the Brain appearance but after that little was heard from this band until late 2003 as it appears Encabulos has been resurrected under the new name Crucifire.
