Always exciting Sydney band with a basic sound often similar to that of late-Corrosion of Conformity, but encompassing really strong hard rock, heavy metal and melodic hard core. A notoriously hard-working band, the embryonic Headlifter formed in Lismore in the early 1990s before finding a home on the northern beaches of Sydney where they have become a very popular live drawcard. Excursions outside that territory were frequent but have only recently really begun to pay off for this excellent band. Both CDs are well worth laying an ear to. Gock has since left the band and has been replaced by Steve Merry.
