POD PEOPLE

Brad Nicholson (vocals); Mel Walker (guitar); Josh Nixon (guitar); Maggs (drums); Dave Dryden (bass)

Thunderous doom death rock is the hallmark of this Canberra outfit. With heavy, crushing grooves and a sinister vocal presence, Pod People make a healthy impression. The band's history stretches back to 1993, but of that line-up only singer Nicholson remains from the band which recorded a self-titled EP in 1995. Since then Pod People has formed a solid alliance which has allowed them to release a string of excellent CDs. The band has supported the likes of Brutal Truth and Cathedral and been regulars at Metal for the Brain for some years. The album release, originally known as Ascent to Glamstonia but since changed to Doom Saloon, appeared in June 2002 after a delay of over two years! Nixon was also a member of Blood Duster between 2002 and mid-2003 and Nicholson and Dryden are also members of Log.
