THE WOLVES
Eddie (guitar);
Allan (drums); Tamer (bass, vocals); Jason (guitar, vocals)
Considering the hype surrounding this band and what they acheived, The Wolves could have gone on to be as big as they liked, but it was simply not to be. Playing strong and powerful modern thrash, The Wolves built an enormous following in Melbourne and opened for Entombed in 1999. Even without an official release, the band followed this up with an appearance at the 2000 Big Day Out and a support to Slipknot. Interstate tours with Psi.Kore and Frankenbok followed and an album was set for release with Dark Carnival in September 2000. At the eleventh hour, however, the band announced the recording had been shelved, cancelled their appearance at Metal for the Brain and abruptly ceased all other activity. Eddie toured as Damaged's bass player in late 2000 and he and Jason contributed guitar tracks to The Berzerker's self-titled album amid speculation The Wolves was no more. While the band seems to have constantly denied it has come to an end, in fact playing a handful of live shows in early 2002, the long-promised release of the album has simply never occurred and after such a long period of inactivity it could be that The Wolves has ceased to be.
