AS YOU LIKE IT, one of Shakespeare's greatest romantic comedies, follows the journey of the banished princess, Rosalind (played by Cynthia Hartzell), as she tries to reunite with her unjustly banished father, Duke Senior (Scott Claster), in the Forest of Arden. Ill prepared for the harsh life outside the court, Rosalind disguises herself as a man, and sets out with her cousin Celia (Paizhe Pressley) and the court jester Touchstone (Hugh Brandon Kelly). Along the way they meet a variety of colorful characters, including the young Orlando (Jo Benincasa), with whom Rosalind is madly in love. Using her new masculine identity to her advantage, she teaches Orlando how to win the girl of his dreams: Rosalind herself. The action culminates in the unmasking of Rosalind and order is restored with the sudden retraction of both Duke Senior's and Rosalind's banishment. The characters prepare to leave the Forest of Arden and return to the court amidst a celebration of love and marriage.
