If I carry the Gospel
Oh, you have run, You've run the race
If I have wronged my brother,
When I come to the crossing,
To the lost near and far,
I won't stand emptied handed
At God's judgement bar.
But, I dare not relax
'til I've done all He's asked,
Lest, I should leave behind
And unfinished task.
You have kept the faith
These words I long to hear the Saviour say.
And when my life on earth is passed,
There's just one thing Dear Lord I ask,
Don't let me leave behind an unfinished task.
If I have wounded a friend,
Give me courage precious Lord
To make a mend
And when I come to change my world
And reach glory at last
Then I won't leave behind
An unfinished task.
I'll be leaving behind
All my earthly possesions
And this I won't mind
It will make my heart glad
When I leave all I've had,
If I don't leave behind
An unfinished task.
