This is a sub-culture I know very little about.
I am only guessing here.
The name "Horror Girls" is my own.
For lack of a better one.
What is going on here?
All I have are three links
in the genre.
*
Look at the link and the photo's inside,
then return here.

I have heard about the girls
who walk around Tokyo's trendy Shibuya District
dressed in their school uniforms with blood
soaked bandages wrapped
around their arms.
Or they wear bloody eye patches.
I have yet to find any photos of this fashion,
I guess the "trend" photo police
just aren't up to it.
If I find photo's I will post them.
*
On the Japanese link page that I first found the above site
(Which was a cos-play homepage)
the following link was to a Dario Argento site.
Dario Argento made the horror classic,

"Suspiria"
and of course "Demons" and "Dawn of the Dead"
*
Was this a coincidence
or directly related
to the "Horror Girls" site?
Another question is
are the people in the previous link
a part of the the girls who walk around Shibuya
wearing bloody bandages?
Or are they something different?
?...
Does all this even qualify as a sub-culture?
Here is a second link
very much like the first.

The third link
is pretty out there, and the reason I put a warning on this page.
It has simulated death and torture on part of it, I was
disturbed, don't go there if you don't want
to see such stuff, it is more of the above but just
more extreme and
It makes me wonder if these are just s/m fetish sites
and have nothing to do with youth culture at all.

(As an afterthough I decline to link
to the above page, It doesn't belong with the StarLit 501 project.
If you are so inclined
you can root around on the link page to the site above it
and get to it from there.)
*
There is a plethora of violent/torture "hentai" manga
in Japan. These comix books are
directly related to the above site in imagry and context.
There is a definite fascination with blood
for the Japanese, their literature
and films are flowing with it.
The rituals of blood and suicide are
very much part of the artistic
and cultural tradition...
Oh, as usual I have mainly observations and in this case,
no conclusions.
I'm grasping for straws...
Maybe it's better left that way.
My aplogies if you were overly disturbed by all this.
Sub-cultures are not always pretty.
