MOVIE NEWS
****************
SCHEDULING UPDATES
--------------------------------------
This week has seen an e-mail going to most of the Batman news sources with supposed information about the release schedules for the upcoming Bat movies.
The mail-note is from someone who identifies themselves as being “close” to Warner Bros and speculates that WB want a Bat-movie out in 2003 to follow on from Marvel’s 2002 releases (Spider-Man and X-Men2).
It appears that BATMAN BEYOND may be the first out of the block and that it will be “a sequel of sorts” to the last four movie franchise.
BATMAN: YEAR ONE is being looked at as a vehicle for re-launching the franchise, possibly in 2005 or 2006.
In the intervening period look for another WB comics-based movie, that might be the CATWOMAN movie or another property such as Wonder Woman.
KEATON’S COWL FOR SALE
---------------------------------------
Defender
Of Gotham reports that auction house “Fleetwood Owen is currently auctioning
off and accepting bids on a cowl and chest armor from the original 1989 BATMAN
Movie. It will then culminate in a 'live' auction on the 31st July at Planet
Hollywood, London.
The
chest armor (minus badge) and cowl are made of black rubber and used in
production of the first film starring Michael Keaton.” The Cowl is stated to have been used only
for exterior open shots as the ears are to long to fit in enclosed spaces, such
as the Batmobile. These items are listed as Sale 2013 Lot 10. Also up for bid
is a color still of Michael Keaton as Batman and signed by the actor. This item
is Sale 2013 Lot 11. Items can be viewed at http://www.fleetwoodowen.com/asp/auctions.asp
