Alastair Gaine is the Master of Attack Magic for Vane. He is a member of the elite Council of Elders, also serving as secretary of the group. Alastair is the person who sealed the Silver Spire, so that only an Ausa could open it. He supervises the Magic Guard of the city. He is a nice and gentle man, but will speak his mind. Around his guards he has the efficiency of a brilliant military strategist. Alastair is quite powerful, but probably no match for Tamora. He is freindly to Mia and the rest of the Council, and a decent friend to Gregory. His opinion of Nash is neutral, and he dislikes Orinth.
