With, Yet Without You
I feel you out there
staring at me
I want to yell . . . where
If you hide, how will I see?
So I stare too
hoping to catch
a glimpse of you
my one and only match
I'm the left glove
and you are the right
Where are you my love?
still nowhere in sight.
And so I cry out
I'm sick of straining
I don't want to shout
but here I stand
alone another day
without a plan, without a way
to find you
I walk my paths
at four in the afternoon
Where's my other half?
Why can't it be here soon?
Thousands of faces
and not a one is yours
I walk through a life of mazes
and nothing but locked doors
Open that door
and please step through
So I do chore after chore
In the desperate hope of finding you
And so I cry out
I'm sick of straining
I don't want to shout
but here I stand
alone another day
without a plan, without a way
to find you
