Welcome to our first "Best of." Here, we will reflect on our
remarkable year commemorating and honoring special events.
Glance below for some of our favorites, most memorable moments,
and learn something you never knew about our Gaming Precinct
Forums. Enjoy! |
Forum of the Year |
Winner:
Final Fantasy
|
Runner-Up:
Rancho Alamitos |
Final Fantasy sheltered
some of the most interesting, informative posts of the year such
as FF Music. The fact that members turned to this forum for help
on playing the game shows a strong aspect of that forum. Of
course it would not be right if we did not recognize Rancho
Alamitos. Who would have known a forum full of a bunch of school
friends would skyrocket to the top spot for most of the year? |

Winner:
Worse Looking Female in Gaming |
Runner-Up:
Useless Information by Luvseeka Part I |
Among some ugly gaming
females: Sherry Birkin (Resident Evil 2), Dahlia Gillespie
(Silent Hill), Lara Croft (Tomb Raider's), Rose (Street
Fighters)
Among some useless
things posted:

Most Original Platform Topic |
Winner:
Silent Hill Conspiracy |
Runner-Up:
Evolution of GC Controller |
Silent Hill Conspiracy:
James discusses why he never plays Silent Hill.
Andy's Two Cents:
Looking at the controller on its face, it does seem like it's
lacking buttons. But the main reason why Miyamoto made it like
that was not to complicate players with pressing the wrong
buttons. I didn't really have troubles with the N64 controller,
but I guess others did. |
Most Original Games Topic |
Winner:
The FF FMV Awards |
Runner-Up:
FF Music |
Visually Stunning:
There's no doubt that the
Final Fantasy series has been responsible for some of the most
amazing FMV's ever. For that reason, it only seems logical
that someone would decide to create a topic on which FMV is
the best thus far.
FF Music: One of
the most extensive, informative posts anywhere! |
Most Original Entertainment Topic |
Winner:

Runner-Up:

Winner:
Farewell to Mr. Wilbur |
Runner-Up:
Love Life |
Winner for Most
Emotional: If you are looking for emotion, you won't find it
anywhere but in the Rancho Alamitos forum in the Farewell to Mr.
Wilbur topic. Students poured their hearts out to the teacher as
he left for a principal position at another school.
How's it going:
Student's share the complexity of the simple word called
love. |
Mugshot of the Year |
Winner:
Survivor Castaways
in Austin Powers Costumes |
Runner-Up:
Erin Brockovich Screwed My Dog Skip Marquee |
Outstanding Image: Survivor fever hit all across America and
even to our forums. We celebrated the finale of the show by
posting a picture of the final five in Austin Powers costumes.
Rich was Dr. Evil himself, Kelly as Mini- Me, Rudy as One, Susan
as Frau, and Sean as the man that needs to be asked three
questions in order to answer it (forgot his name). Sorry, we
lost the picture somewhere on the web... and we would get the
other one but it also met the same fate. |
Best Personal Photo |
Winner:
LotusFire |
Runner-Up:
SquallVI3 |
Both
LotusFire and Squallvi3 have this in common: their icons both
are Final Fantasy characters. Lotus has Dagger from Final
Fantasy IX and Squall has ummm... Squall in a bunny suit from
Final Fantasy VIII. Just don't expect to see Squall in a bunny
suit in the actual game or anywhere anytime soon. |
Feature of the Year |
Winner:
Most Popular
Topics, Forums, and Posters |
Runner-Up:
The Ranking System |
Feature
Happy: What differentiate us from other sites is that we
actually take the time to update some things that would be of
interest to our users. For that reason, we have kept a close eye
on how well each topic and forum is doing as well as observing
which members are posting more than the others. In any case, the
heading on a whole is partly responsible for our fame.
|
Best Piece of Spam |
Winner:
Trixx75 |
Runner-Up:
KonokoRose |
Delicious: Our site has been a target from some of the most
vulgar things known to man, some of which I have erased before
ANYONE could see it. Don't worry, your eyes are spared
from the atrocities we have seen. Besides that, we have had some
"friendly" spammers who have decorated their topics beautifully.
Although these winners never post, and will never probably see
this again, hopefully the newsletter will help, their spam is
among the best. |
Most Controversial Stories |
1.
Lionheart Bashing
Precincters |
2.
Johnny Incident |
3.
Luvseeka's Other Identity? |
We've Been Through A
Lot: Before we established that users must register to post,
we had a run in with a guest member who called him/herself
LionHeart83. Basically since we were inexperienced at criticism,
this was a shock to us, especially with the language used. But
now look at us! We can take whatever anyone has to throw at us.
The Johnny Incident was also one of the top controversy of the
years which held our site at risk of being erased. Someone with
access to the site threatened to erase it. We fortunately got
out of that predicament. Number 3 concerns Luvseeka who
mysteriously disappeared from the forums. In an instant another
identity by the name Rising Sun showed up whom we believed was
Luvseeka in disguise. No one knows for sure if that is him or
not. |
Rest In Peace |
1.
Survivor |
3.
Space Channel 5 |
2.
Starry Background |
4.
Big Brother |
In Our Memories: We are sad to see that Survivor did not
survive its months as its own forum. Perhaps when the show comes
back this January, the forum will be stronger. As for Space
Channel 5, there is a small chance that any sequel is in the
works but rather a game that stars the infamous space diva,
Ulala is possible. As for our friend Big Brother, a sequel to
the show is still uncertain. |
Closing Remarks |
Looks
like Final Fantasy took home lots of honors this year, including
Forum of the Year as well as nabbing both spots for Best Game
Topic. Another thing that seemed to be the talks of this year is
that little known show Survivor, who also grabbed three awards
as well. Of course, we cannot begin to thank the legions of
people who have used our forums for many times a week, or just
once. Either way, we appreciate the fact that you came here and
enjoyed what we have to offer. Thanks, and have a great year! |
