Tribal Council: This is where you are accountable for your own actions in the game. One by one, each player will vote for another to be eliminated from the game. Only those who have won immunity through a challenge may not be voted out of the game. The player that receives the most votes will be eliminated from the game. In the event of a tie, the tribe members not involved in the tie will revote once again. If nothing changes then the person who has the most prior votes will be eliminated from the game. This voting procedure will continue on until the Sole Survivor is declared.

 Tribal Council #11: Ranau Choues - 1.23.03

Vi Vanishes After Single Vote

 The Vote

Vi's chance at the grand prize literally slipped out of her hand as she was unable to keep her pennies stable in the final and perhaps, the most crucial immunity challenge in the game yet--guaranteeing Van, the winner of immunity, a seat in the Final 2.

Vi has been labeled this season's master strategist simply because people assumed she was the one pulling the strings with the votes. Indeed, she was able to avoid the vote several times this year as the person who received the most votes. Vi, on two occasions, has predicted her demise but both times, she was a vote or two away from the person booted.

How Vi will vote as the last member of the jury is still sketchy.  Many times throughout the season, Vi has said that this game is unpredictable, and surely, I can almost feel it, but I think she has still yet to show how unpredictable it can really be.

Vi

  • She laughs at me.

  • Vi's Final Words:

"I'm really disappointed because I've made it this far and lost immunity because I screwed up. I would wish the F2 good luck but I don't want to. Although bitter, I have to say you 2 deserved this but so did I!!! And for the record, I still deny the girls alliance."."

    The Looking Glass:

Although Keith survived until the final 3 like Vi, he never really had a solid alliance with the eventual final 2--Colby and Tina though everyone assumed he did. And also like Vi, he faced numerous votes and still managed to make it far into the game.

     Why Vi Lost?
    1. She lost the final challenge. 3. She had no solid alliance--the girls' apparently did not exist.
    2. She likes to laugh?

     Tribal Council #10: Ranau Choues - 1.15.02

    Keli Exiled From Challenge Beach

     The Votes

The final days of the game are winding down, and with each challenge, the Survivors are getting closer and closer to the grand prize. That is why this week's latest castaway, Keli, the 17-year old Build-A-Bear employee of Downtown Disney, was sent away from Challenge Beach by a narrow vote of 2-1-1.

Keli was anything but "unbearable" to the other players but this "friend" was voted out simply because of her dominance in recent challenges.  As far as an inner circle within the girl's alliance, there doesn't appear to be one judging by the way the vote went down this week.

With Keli's departure, it makes her the last member of the Chosau tribe, post switch.  If the Survivors were to sit down and think about the votes, it is clear how each person voted. After attaining this knowledge, will that break more allegiances? The final challenge will take its course in the next couple of days, guaranteeing either May, Van, or Vi a spot in the final two and a shot at winning the prize but judging by Keli's words, she won't make the journey to Sole Survivor an easy one.

    Van

    Vi

  • I don't want to vote for anyone else.
  • She did well in today's challenge.
  • Keli's Final Words:

"I'm happy I made it this far. But... I'm still in the game. As the first girl voted off I have a major advantage. I can sway the boy's vote first. Some people had it in for me, well I maybe I have it in for someone else."

    The Looking Glass:

Aside from the differences of being a journalist and having blonde hair, Neleh played the game like Keli in that she did not think should would make it far. She made a pact to get to the end and it worked. She was cut off short though, losing the top prize.

     Why Keli Lost?
    1. She lost a crucial immunity in which she just came back from winning many recent challenges.
    2. Viewed as a threat in the Final 2 because she has not made enemies with any member on the jury.
    3. Temporarily isolated from all the females during the switch--Thanh left.

     Tribal Council #9: Ranau Choues - 12.18.02

Elliot Exterminated ::casts Revive:: <<magic failed>>

     The Votes

It has been a tough journey for the males of the game, all of whom have been kicked out for the last 7 votes (Thanh and Andrea resigned), leaving Eli, the 17-year old math wiz from Garden Grove, CA with the distinct honor of being the longest lasting male. He joins the other males as the fifth member of the jury, leaving only two seats open before a winner is declared for Survivor 3: Rancho Alamitos...

It has been an interesting week here at Ranau Choues, with more than half of the girl alliance contemplating their vote for Eli and considering another person. Now that the "easy" target is gone, next week will really determine where peoples' true allegiances lie. "All bets are off."

This has been the first time since Jason B's boot that the person removed from the game received only three votes. Is this a sign of a fracture in the rumored girls' alliance? Up until this point, there really is no one denying the existence of the alliance so several viewers, myself included, are interested in how things will pan out.

The males have the games in their hand as they dominate the jury and ultimately have the power to reward and punish someone. It all comes down to who screwed them over the least, and with this crowd, it's hard to tell.

  • The arrow points that direction.
  • Eli's Final Words:

"Welp, I knew it would happen. Now let's see how the girls are going to duke it out, bwahaha"

    The Looking Glass:

Jake was the last remaining member of Sook Jai, who was consecutively picked off one by one (lost 4 straight immunities then Chuay Ghan took the other 3 out). He tried to stay in the game as long as he could but was unable to fracture the alliance that controlled the game. Eli tried--no such luck.

     Why Eli Lost? Survivor Retrospective:
    1. Though he didn't win any challenges on his own, his brain power scared and intimidated some.
    2. Complaints - anyone that has something to add about every challenge and TC will surely get some unwanted attention.
Eli was short of making the jury but because David L. had the power for that week, he decided to vote off Eli as opposed to Phu, who was later forced out of the game anyway.

     Tribal Council #8: Ranau Choues - 12.13.02

Bye ARNOLD! Arnold Axed Out of the Game

     The Votes

After an exhausting challenge, pitting doubles against each other for immunity, Arnold, the 17 year old token tech master on campus from Stanton, CA was left out of the "network" which schemed against him and ultimately led to his boot. Arnold joins the other members of Ranau Choues on the jury who will ultimately decide the winner of the game.

Arnold has been the lone ranger of the series, avoiding conflicts as well as staying out of speculated alliances. In one of the more shocking moves of the season, Arnold refused to vote for someone at his first Tribal Council so as not to create any waves. This style of playing, however, could be viewed as a apathetic attitude toward the game, an attitude the remaining members of the tribe did not want to have around.

Arnold refused to plea for his survival in the game, stating that "I don't like to do that." He openly expressed his strong belief that he would be the next to go, because Eli won immunity. This move alone seemed to be a good enough reason for people to him out. He was kicked out of the Penny challenge, now out of the game.

  • Arnold's Final Words:

Ursai!!! Usotsuki. It was not because I wanted to leave or had no enthusiasm. You planned to vote me off... baka ne... chikusho!!

    The Looking Glass:

Sean made did not aligned with anyone. On the show, his strategy was voting people off alphabetically. Arnold made a move earlier this season in which he tried to vote for himself. Arnold did not reveal much about how he was playing the game nor did it seem like he care if he had won.

     Why Arnold Lost? Survivor Retrospective:
    1. Refused to share information to anyone. Played solo more.
    2. Expressed his lack of confidence.
    3. Was the only other male up for the boot.
Arnold played in season 2 of Survivor and was able to muster up a seat on the jury, although his second try this time around, he did much better.

     Tribal Council #7: Ranau Choues - 12.5.02

I'm Just Chris From the Chopping Block

     The Votes

It looks like work can get into the way of winning this game, and it is exactly why Chris, the 17 year old Associated Student Body (ASB) Club Commissioner residing in Stanton, CA, takes a seat as the third jury member. The slaughter of the males seems to near completion, but anything can happen at this stage of the game.

Fate played a huge role in this week's events. Chris covered a shift in the Student Store today, something he was unable to get out of, and as a result, became the first in line to get the boot for this week. Whether that was decided prior to his absence or not is unknown.

Chris has taken on the role of one of the most dramatic Survivors of all time, just look at his final words for example. He handled his boot with a long exclamation of "Noooooooooo" and verbally put down the fact that the females are out for the guys (again, the existence of a boys vs. girls dynamic is only an assumption). There was no mentioning of gender in the voter comments, just expressions of power and inactivity.

Chris will go on, returning to his job at Sam's Club.  I doubt after the game, he will disappear like Judy. He won't leave the game without a little bit more drama.

Next week's episode should be one of the most pivotal challenges of the season and will ultimately decide the five people who will make the final five. 8 down, 5 to go.

  • She's too dominant
  • One down, two to go
  • She's too powerful
  • Chris's Final Words:

Ok well i guess my survivor rode has come to a end AGAIN... for the freakin 4th time... geesh guys when will I get my win???hahaha... i knew i messed up when I decided to join some kind of Alliance... i was better off playing my own tactic... you know... dont be that active???hahaha... well have fun you guys... dont get tooo kwazzie... good luck to everyone else that is in the game.... HAHAHAHA I BET YOU DIDNT EXPECT THAT... HOW DARE YOU THINK I AM DRAMA... BITCHEEES...HAHAHA... BYE!!!

    The Looking Glass:

Kelly parallels Chris in the same way with the amount of interest each brought to the game. However, both of these two became targets because a) they were not active in challenges and b) they were shady on where their allegiances lie. Lex went on a rat hunt after he received a vote and this is one of the reasons, Chris got an extra one because "he must've voted for me." The same happened to Kelly.

     Why Chris Lost? Survivor Retrospective:
    1. You didn't show up, primary reason you stood out from the rest.
    2. Your ASB cheers in Episode 2 got nerves running high.
    3. Didn't get out there to really really play.
    4. Submitted your votes late, though it was not announced.
    5. General lack of interest in the game caused the boot.
Chris got 8th place and was booted with four votes in Survivor 1.

Chris got 21st place but managed to win a resurrection challenge, propelling his position to 7th place.

     Tribal Council #6: Ranau Choues - 11.24.02

Chaka Khan Sings No More... Inho is OUTho...

     The Votes

After being accused for "Dirrty" dealings with David T., Inho, the 17 year old church youth leader from Garden Grove, CA, becomes the second member of the jury and the 3rd consecutive male to be voted out of the game. Inho, the winner of the first Survivor game, amazingly flew under the radar during the first few weeks of the game, but 4 other members of his tribe saw his "sneaky ways" and decided it was his time to go.

Inho originally went crazy over the fact that he received one vote during Tribal Council #5, but he will no longer agonize over receiving votes ever again.

Inho blames David T. for his demise. "I wouldn't have done that to him," an upset Inho said. "I sort of sensed it," Inho comments on his boot.  In the first season, Inho managed to alter votes after a deadlock tie between him and Dan but it didn't seem to work on the person who he thought could help him this round.

What happens now is uncertain. Is the rumored gender alliance playing itself out (seems so since Van received a vote based on that)? Nothing is for sure in this game, especially now that next week's challenge will have individuals questioning their position in the game.

  • She has too many X chromosomes
  • Inho's Final Words:

    I'm playing PlayStation...leave me alone...at least I have my new comp...btw, u guys SUCK!

    The Looking Glass:

Tammy became known as John's right hand woman. This would prove detrimental to her. Their alliance was unmasked in a challenge where they revealed the pecking order the alliance would boot others. The five created a majority and booted the other four. She was booted because of her alliance and the threat she posed for winning immunity, just like Inho.

     Why Inho Lost?

    1. David T. + Inho = doom once David T. let everything out of the bag after his boot. Bad mistake. Moco = good choice. 2. You missed one challenge. I know it doesn't seem like a huge factor that round, but it may have carried over to this season. 3. You made alliances with everyone, so it seems, at least with about 3 other people who didn't know about one another. 4. You were perceived as too strong and a threat, remember your Survivor 1 days, well wait, did you win anything? 5. You made fun of James' breath that one day so the Tribal Gods made sure you pay for the insulting remarks. I have gum now!

     Tribal Council #5: Ranau Choues - 11.13.02

First Juror: "Raspberries" for David T., Davids Are Extinct

     The Votes

Ranau Choues may be one tribe but harmony is hard to detect after the disunited tribe voted off its first member, now on the jury--17 year old Season 2 Sole Survivor David T. from Garden Grove, CA. Several factors led to David T.'s timely boot which will be discussed below in the Why David T. Lost feature. With one less male, the game is equal between the genders

Vi narrowly edged out David T. this week. The vote count mirrors that of last week's TC. Something "fishy" IS going on. Van, previously on the brink of banishment, picked up one vote while Arnold got his first vote as a result of his second place standing in the immunity challenge. Eli, Keli, and May have yet to receive any votes.

David T. will not take his loss in stride. As part of the jury, he will do anything he can to make sure the winner of this game is the most deserving. "I'll find ways to ruin this game" David T. jokingly said. It is clear that he is rooting for the males to take this game (or some of them), and it may be possible with a male dominated tribe. Who will be the next person voted off with this new shift in power? And with this past immunity challenge forge new alliances to take control of the game?

  • David T.'s Final Words:

I didn't expect to win two in a row, but at least I'll be one of the people deciding who wins the game, and how fitting 4 girls versus 4 guys. Go guys... or some of the guys...

You scared of the best, you then get rid of the best, but I am still the best, still the most devious, and you will find that out later

     Why David T. Lost?

    1. You promoted something that wasn't even popular. Davidholicism! Ahhh... Burn that flag! (edit: you just took it down) 2. You won the game before. Duh. You couldn't help that fact, but playing a bit nicer and less sneakier could have helped you out. 3. You didn't think you would make it very far. Being on the jury for a past winner is pretty darn tooting good so be happy with it. 4. You weren't highly favorable by the ladies of the tribe. Always be on the good side of people or it could catch up to you later on. 5. You couldn't handle the pressure of spelling a word that you knew. Keli picked you next in line and that led to your downfall.

Tribal Council #4: Chosau and Ranues - 11.10.02

Peace Out David L.: Red Scare Over

     The Votes

In a tense Tribal Council, allowing members from opposites tribes to vote for anyone, David L., the 17 year old Magic: The Gathering card player  from Stanton, CA, proved no spell could save him this week.  His main adversary, Van, barely tied with David L. Had Van been voted off, she would have followed the Newbie Curse of Season 3: Jackie, Jason, Thanh, and Andrea were all new and were consecutively eliminated from the game.

If my math skills are right, members from Chosau did not heavily target anyone within their tribe, explaining the 9 votes for Ranues as opposed to Chosaus' 1 vote. Is this only a reflection of the factions developing within the Ranues? The comments stem from four reasons: 1) threats 2) gender 3) inactivity and this week's main contributing factor 4) what the tribe was deciding on the whole. Number 4 racked up votes against David L. and Van proving that tribes are conversing between one another.

David L. has the worse position in the game by being one vote short of being on the jury who'll decide the winner.

     Why David L. Lost?
    1. You cursed off about half of the players before the game started. Way to make friends :) 2. Your name is too similar to another. What if people thought you were the other David? 3. You insulted the tribe names. The tribal Gods over heard you...  and punished you for it 4. You have an XY chromosome. Sometimes genetic make up sucks doesn't it? 5. You can't win a game if you don't do the challenge. Mariah can't act without classes.

Tribal Council #3: Chosau and Ranues - 11.3.02

Thanh Swept Away By Challenge Creek

Skywatch Off In Space: Sayonara Andrea

Thanh, the 17-year old Dawson Creek fanatic from Garden Grove, CA, voluntarily allowed her flame to be extinguished. Her departure from Chosau leaves Keli as the last female standing of the tribe. She participated in the first challenge but after experiencing the game for a few weeks, she realized she did not have time to play the game as much as she would have liked.

Andrea, the 16-year old OCAD medalist from Anaheim, CA, left her tribe, something she had wished to do from the beginning. She leaves behind May and Van, who were also switched to Ranues.  They are now outnumbered by the original Ranues members.  Andrea showed signs of interest last week when she assisted in the challenge but ultimately, decided to drop out.

Thanh's Final Words: It was fun, but unfortunately, my life is way too busy to take on these challenges... so I wish everyone luck... Andrea's Final Words: Best of luck to everyone on my team! go kick our opponent's butt

     Tribal Council #2: Chosau - 10.28.02

In-N-Out: "Berger" Burnt... Get's the Boot

     The Votes

Chosau follows the same path as rival tribe, voting out the member who appeared to be contributing the least. This prompted the removal of Jason, the 17 year old top Physics AP student from Garden Grove, CA.  Here's an equation all will understand: (1 vote)(3 people) = 3 votes = the most = the boot.

The votes this week mirrors that of last week: a voting block against the minority gender, whom also has the label of "slacker."  The dispersal of the votes also reveal the schism between different personalities in both tribes. Chosau's loss this week was initiated by a lack of participation with 4 of its 7 members involved as opposed to Ranues 5 of 6.  Tempers flared as a result and it appears that it will carry over to future challenges.

Cardinal rule #1: get an account if you are playing a game centered around Ezboard. Jason had problems gaining access to his account like last week's boot Jackie. However, Jason does not leave the game saddened.  He was originally casted near the end of the tryout period, but was not too psyched up about it anyway, at least until the end. Two down, 11 to go.

     Tribal Council #1: Ranues - 10.22.02

Gender Bender: Luck runs out for "Lucky"

     The Votes

Dissension is apparent in the Ranues tribe as 4 of the 7 Survivors received votes, basing them on work ethic and gender. But in the end, Jackie, the 16 year old Vietnamese Club vice president from Garden Grove, CA, got the axe from her fellow tribemates, proving that she isn't so "lucky."

Based on the comments, it appears that Ranues is split along gender lines claiming the end of Jackie's stay in the game, who was thought to be a threat due to her "ability to rally the females against the males" (that would mean the vote should have come out 4-3, hmmm...). Despite leading the popularity polls, she did not help her popularity by failing to complete Part 1 of the challenge, leading to her eventual oust. Will Ranues settle their inner dispute, or create a larger division?

So what is the main reason behind this boot? Word on the street is that Jackie thinks "Glitter" is a decent movie. Anyone who can sit through that movie for more than five minutes is a Survivor in my book! So here's a final inside joke just for you Jackie.  "Do I threaten you baby... Do I?"... "I certainly do!" One down, 12 to go.
