Our Bantam season will be starting around the end of August, running until the middle of November. We incourage all boys and girls to participate, we do have a few basic conditions though; they have to be at least turning 13 in this calendar year, they can't be turning 16 in this calendar year. Also since the high schools have wonderful football programs we can not accept grade 10 students.
Registrations will be going on all through September. All anyone has to do is E-Mail us to let us know that their interested and then we will make arrangements.
The registration fees for Bantam are $125.00 and we will require a deposit of $300.00 (postdated for November 30th 2002) for the equipment. The deposit will be returned at the end of the season provided the equipment is returned. That's right all equipment is suppied, the only equipment that we can't supply are the cleats and athletic supporter (with out cup). Moms take it from me and please don't try to be a hero, get dad if posible or another male to purchase the support, I made that mistake, it wasn't good!!
Grande Prairie Minor Football Society not only teaches the sport of tackle football but also teaches our young athletes many other important life skills that they will carry with them through out their lives. Through the sport of football the young athletes build self-confidence, self-control, co-operation, sportsmanship, they learn to set a level of goals that they know they can reach with hard work and a good attitude and most of all they learn "respect", not only for others but themselves. Doesn't it feel great when someone pats you on the back and says 'well done' or see's their efforts and say's ' good try'. Everyone needs to feel that they're apart of something great, a self belonging. We can help the young athletes of our community and other communitiet feel that special way by joining our team. |
