The 1891 census there is listed a grandaughter Frances A., age 3, birthplace Turnbridge Hills.

William and sister Ada Sarah were the only Frier children known to have left England and to settle in America... William first came to Canada from England after his wife died. He brought with him his 4 year old son Ernest... In 1914, after he had enlisted in the Canadian Army, his sister Ada and her husband adopted Ernest at Williams request... After William survived the war he eventually settled in Long Beach... Sometime during this period he married Florence "Flo" (maiden name unknown), whether in Canada or the US is not known... For many years Will and Flo managed the Argyle Apartments on Ocean Boulevard in Long Beach. During this period, Ernest was living in Compton, California, and often visited his father... In the 7 May 1913 Orleans Republican, an Albion, New York, newspaper, under the "Personal Mention" column was the following paragraph: "Mrs. Henry Peters is entertaining her brother from England"... This one line shows William with his sister Ada in Albion, just prior to his going into World War I... When Will died he was cremated and his ashes dispursed into the ocean near Long Beach.
