EIGHTH GENERATION

144. Noah PHELPS * (130) was born on 21 Nov 1720 in Hebron, Tolland Co., CT. He died on 10 Jun 1795 in Green River, Columbia Co., NY. Noah was a farmer and first settled in Hebron, Connecticut. In 1746 he moved his family to Old Simsbury, below Granby, Connecticutt, then from there to Green River, New York, on the border with Massachusetts. He died at the house of his son Jonah and was buried in the Old Calkins Burying Ground.

Noah and Mary had 10 children all born in Simsbury (accept the first 3): Lazarus, b. 17 Feb 1743; Jonah; Peleg, b. 22 Jun 1746, d. 6 Aug 1761; Mary, b. 7 May 1748, d, 27 Dec 1748; Levi, b. 24 Nov 1749, m. Anna Pinney; David, b. 11 Jul 1752, m. Ruth Ward; Noah, b. 1 Aug 1754, m. Sarah Adams; Mary, b. 9 Feb 1757; Rebecca, b. 12 Jan 1759, m. Lewis; Sarah, b. 11 Dec 1761, m. Moore.

He was married to Mary TILLOTSON * about 1742 in NY.

145. Mary TILLOTSON * was born about 1725. She died on 31 Oct 1794 in Austerlitz, Columbia Co., NY. Children were:

child iii. Peleg PHELPS was born on 22 Jun 1746 in Hebron, Tolland Co., CT. He died on 6 Aug 1761 in Hebron, Tolland Co., CT.
child iv. Mary PHELPS was born on 7 May 1748 in Hebron, Tolland Co., CT. She died on 27 Dec 1748 in Hebron, Tolland Co., CT.
child v. Levi PHELPS was born on 24 Nov 1749 in Simsbury, Hartford Co., CT. Source indicates Levi married Anna Pinney late in life (they had 1 child), and probably settled in East Windsor, CT. In 1776, Levi served during the Revolutionary War in Capt. Buttolph's Company stationed in New York. He also served in Col. Phelps 18th Regiment.
child vi. David PHELPS(131) was born on 11 Jul 1752 in Simsbury, Hartford Co., CT. He died on 20 Jun 1841 in Green River, Columbia Co., NY. David married Ruth Ward in 1773 (b. 1747, Salmon Brook, now Grandby, CT., d..26 May 1825, Austerlitz, NY, daughter of Gamaliel and Damaris (Holcomb) Ward). He married 2nd, Urania Webster who was killed by lightening on 2 August 1841, age 71. David settled in Grandby, Connecticut, but later moved to Green River, New York. He was in the Revolutionary War under Col. Gay's command. [Source contains some genealogy on Ruth Ward family]
