According to the source Ruloof, or Roeloff de Duyster, is the ancestor of this branch of the Dutcher family in America. The "Last will and Testament of Mr. Ruloof Dutchers late of Weataug (who deceased about ye 19th of January last past)...", was probated in Woodbury, Litchfield County, on 9 June 1737. Ruloof's wife and son Christopher were executors. He was married to Jannitji BRESSIE * about 1700 in Albany Co., NY.

297. Jannitji BRESSIE *⁽¹⁸⁴⁾ was born before 1701. She died on 26 Jul 1749 in Albany, Albany Co., NY. The name Jannitji appears as Jannetje and Jonyche. The correct spelling is unknown at this time. The source indicates her ancestors were probably "among the early French Refugees who fled France to Holland during the 15th or 16th centuries". Children were:

i. Johannes DUTCHER was born about 1701 in Kingston, Duchess Co., NY. He died before 1708 in Kingston, Duchess Co., NY. Johannes, the first, was baptised 21 September 1701 in Kingston, Duchess County, New York, and died young.

iii. Christophel DUTCHER was born about 1705 in Albany, Albany Co., NY. In most documents the name appears as Christopher. He was baptised 15 July 1705 in Albany, New York.

v. Margaret DUTCHER was born about 1710 in Kingston, Duchess Co., NY. Margaret was baptised in Kingston, New York, on 7 May 1710. It is not known if she married.
