ELEVENTH GENERATION

1024. Jacob WILLSON * (244) was born about 1618 in England. He died before 1653 in Old Braintree, Norfolk Co., MA. Jacob, a sawyer, had a grant of land confirmed to him 16 April 1638 for a family at Muddy River (now Brookline). On 24 December 1638, he sold a house and lot at Muddy River (this may have been part of the same parcel). On 24 February 1640, he was granted 16 acres, based on a family of four, at Mt. Wollaston (Old Braintree). He was made a freeman on 3 June 1641. Jacob appears on a list of early proprietors of Taunton, Massachusetts, when he appeared in Plymouth (County) Court, 20 August 1644. No record indicates he lived in Taunton. In 1678 a Samuel Smith had the Taunton rights formerly belonging to Jacob. He was married to Alice ("widdow") WILLSON * about 1640 in Massachusetts.

1025. Alice ("widdow") WILLSON * was born about 1620 in unknown. She died in Apr 1663 in Braintree, Norfolk Co., MA. She was living in Braintree as Alice (or Ales), the widow of Jacob Wilson, when she sued Thomas Faxon, Sr., on 18 May 1653 for abusing her two children, Joseph and Isaac, his apprentices. On 30 April 1663, William Allis and Francis Elliot, of Braintree, inventoried her estate for the court and it was divided between her children. Children were:
