Doctrine
- Jesus Christ is our Savior
-
- There is no other way to have our sins forgiven and have eternal
life. (Romans 3:23) "for all have sinned and
fall short of the glory of God," (Romans 6:23)
"For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal
life in Christ Jesus our Lord." (Acts 4:12)
"Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other
name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved."
- Jesus Christ is our Sanctifier
-
- By this we mean that Jesus gives us that ability to live a
life that is loving toward others, pure in its motives, and honoring
to God. This life style does not earn us heaven. Jesus completely
paid for that on the cross. By living the way God wants us to
we find joy and peace with both God and those around us. (Romans
12:1-2) "Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view
of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy
and pleasing to God -- this is your spiritual act of worship.
Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be
transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able
to test and approve what God's will is -- his good, pleasing and
perfect will."
- Jesus Christ is our Healer
-
- God is the creator of our bodies. He created them with a wonderful
ability to heal. Frequently we are healed through the services
of the medical profession. There are times, though, when God steps
in and touches us in a special way bringing healing that may not
be explainable by the medical profession. We do not have the right
to demand healing from God. He is sovereign. He does invite us
to call upon Him and ask for healing. (James 5:14-16)
"Is any one of you sick? He should call the elders of the
church to pray over him and anoint him with oil in the name of
the Lord. And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person
well; the Lord will raise him up. If he has sinned, he will be
forgiven. Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for
each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous
man is powerful and effective."
- Jesus is our Coming King
-
- One day, in His good time, Jesus will return to earth. He
will reign here for 1000 years in righteousness. Then He with
all who have trusted Him as Savior will return to Heaven where
we will worship Him and enjoy His presence forever. (Acts
1:11) "Men of Galilee," they said, "why
do you stand here looking into the sky? This same Jesus, who has
been taken from you into heaven, will come back in the same way
you have seen him go into heaven." (John 14:1-3)
"Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God; trust
also in me. In my Father's house are many rooms; if it were not
so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place
for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come
back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am."
