she slipped into my conciousness
slipped under my skin
slipped into my mind
my heart
my soul
she even
slipped into all of
those empty spaces
dark places
secret places
where no one else could go
that first time
we made love
we
slipped away from the party early
slipped up to my place
and she
slipped out of her sweater
her suedes
her slacks
her silks
and
slipped between the sheets
and we
slipped together like a hand in a glove
and later
a smile
slipped across her face
and she said
I'm in love.
spring and summer
and the seasons
slipped away on cats paws
slipped into years
and I didn't notice
and in all that time
I never once said
I'm in love
and she
slipped away
