Information:
Free
software from Trident is as versatile as many commercial software packages!
In order to use the scanner with the software an interface is required.
We have modified the CAT-232 interface for use with this scanner. We will
do the modification to the interface for you and we will supply you with
the software on CD FREE of charge when you purchase the interface from
us. You must ask for these FREE items when ordering.
PLEASE NOTE: The speaker/earphone jack is used to connect the scanner to the interface. Once the interface is plugged in, you will not get any sound from the scanner's internal speaker. Our modified adapter is supplied with a speaker jack. If you plan to listen to the scanner while it is connected to the computer, you will need an external speaker with a 3.5 mm plug. Extension speakers are available starting from $10.00.
Scanning
tip: We recommend that you use an external antenna when the scanner is
connected to the computer. This will reduce the amount of noise received
from the computer. If you are in a situation where an external antenna
will overload the scanner, you can try connecting the scanner to a wire
antenna via a short run of coaxial cable. Please call the store if you
need advice on how to do this.
