What the data from this survey is being used for

The data from this survey is being used to characterise the experiences of postgraduate geology students, and identify trends or weakness in supervision as a discipline as a whole.

What it is not

The data is not being used to generate a league list, scoreboard, or for in form of comparison table between institutions.

I am not compiling a list of bad institutions and good institutions, and in no way is the data going to be used to rank institutions, individuals, or supervisors.

The results collected from this survey will not be used to pass judgement on specific individuals or organisations.

Your Privacy and anonymity

The identities of institutions, individuals, and supervisors will at all times be held in strict confidence.

Personal data will not be connected with the results of the survey in any way. I ask for participant's institution, email address, name, and thesis topics only to ensure their authenticity and legitimacy, and to allow me to contact people for follow-up questions if necessary. In no way will any survey responses be related back to individual participants.

Your email address is secure. You will not be spammed by giving me your contact details. I will not sell your details, or pass them on to any other parties.

Each survey respondent is issued with a unique ID tracking code. This is only to keep the different pages of the survey in synchronisation.

Cookies

Cookies are used during the survey to track the pages. The only information stored in cookies is the tracking ID code and your email address. This information is only held for the life of each session, and will not be stored in your computer. Cookies are erased at the completion of the survey, on shutting down the browser, or by returning to page 1 of the survey .

Geocities (the host server) and banner ads may attach or use other cookies while you visit these pages. Unfortunately I have no control over that.
