RvTm Case#001114

Bigfoot, Cave Junction, Oregon

Raven Team Agent 205 The Raven Team first became aware of the sightings in Cave Junction, Oregon through local papers. Since that time numerous E-mails with Dr. J and visits to his web site located (HERE!). There have been more sightings since that initial sighting, information on those and others can be found though the site link above.

This case will deal with the insertion of two, 2 man teams into the Cave Junction Area on Tuesday the 14th, 2000. After two meetings with the agents that would go into the area. we came up with the premise that to find and film Bigfoot, it would have to be approached in a different way

That Bigfoot would be tracked or if you will, hunted as a man would be. Taking into consideration that Bigfoot would have the senses of an animal but a higher intelligence. With this consideration in mind, the teams erased all vestiges of human scent, used camouflage techniques and conducted basically sneek and peek operations during the insert.

The equipment used during the insert were passive night vision devices and active IR devices with 8mm digital recording capability. A masking scent was used of animals known to be in the area and personal sidearms were carried. The clothes and weapons were sanitized of cleaning agents and oil to avoid any scent that might alert bigfoot to the teams operations in the area. FM communications were utilized between the teams and the base control vehicle based 1 mile from the Caves on the Caves highway. Team 1's initial IP was directly to the west of the caves and would move approximately 300 yards to the west during the night. Team 2's initial IP was the main entrance of the Caves and would move to the NW approximately 300 yards to the northwest.

Mission log Both teams were inserted at each IP 20 minutes after sunset local time.

Negative reports until 01:30 hrs PST Team 1 reports a large animal or animals to the NW of them moving to the north. No visual sighting just the noise of something moving through the brush and a huffing noise.

NOTE: This position relative to both teams: Team 1 about 200 yards from the IP and Team 2 approx. 210 yards from their IP. Placing this movement between the teams and if continued, crossing in front of Team 2.

01:50 hrs PST Team 2 now reports hearing huffing to their left and going to quiet mode, click talk only. Team 1 reports losing contact with what ever was moving.

02:00 hrs PST Team 2 reports with three clicks, visual contact.

02:25 hrs PST Team 2 reports (Voice) losing contact at 02:20 hrs Report to follow.

Negative reports from both teams for the rest of the mission.

Recovered both teams at the parking area at Oregon Caves at 08:00 hrs

Debrief

Team 1 no visual, just the sounds of something large moving to the North of their position at the time of contact.

Team 2 Visual contact at 02:00 hrs with AN/PVS7 of a large bipedal animal/man to the SW of their location 210 yards from the IP and moving to the north. The subject under observation was too far away to make out details. A FLIR/8mm Digital camera was used at this time and approximately 20 minutes of tape was taken. Once the FLIR was in use it became apparent that their were two subjects in view. The second was approximately half the size of the first. Do to the tree's and distance none of the views on tape are clear. They do show the larger subject swinging its arms and walking somewhat stooped over. The arms look somewhat longer than a normal mans arms. Both continued to the north apparently not knowing that the team was there. The tape was copied and the orginal has been sent to a team member in Massachusetts to be analyzed. Pending the results, it will be posted to this site. It is the opinion of Team 2 that what they saw was not a man. A check of the area during daylight did not reveal any distinct evidence. A aerial photo shoot is planned as soon as the weather will allow and the contact will be plotted.

The Raven Team is also looking for people in the Grants Pass Area to assist in further missions in the Cave Junction area. People applying need to have a background in Military operations, Force Recon-Ranger-Special Forces-Seal. If you are interested use the following e-mail link.
