Injasuti Office to Lower Injasuti Cave

Begin the walk as per the Marble Baths hike.  At the Marble Baths-Lower Injasuti Cave junction (NJ077) turn left.  There is a bit of a network of paths here so keep your wits about you.  Shortly thereafter a small crossing is made (NJ080).  A little after that the junction to Fergy's cave (off to the left) will be seen (NJ081).  The entrance to Battle Cave (NJ082-BC) will be passed.  This cave is closed to the public unless prior arrangement with the office has been made whereupon you can get a tour of the cave and its spectacular San paintings.  The path follows the river from here up to the cave (NJ087-LIC), probably about three kilometres in all from the Marble Baths junction.  A couple of river crossings need to be made, and can probably be done without having to take boots off in all but the wettest of seasons.  There is a nice swimming hole below the cave (NJ088).

The cave itself looked perfectfor an overnight stay.  Quite long, but seemingly well protected.  The water is close by.  I didn't measure the distance from the office to the cave, but you're looking at about 8 to 9km.

Return via the same route.
