The trainee will be based at Whistable Health Centre. The Whitstable Medical Practice has 14 Partners who work in 3 smaller sub groups of 5, 5 and 4. Two groups work from the Whitstable Health Centre and one group from the Chestfield Medical Centre. The Practice operates personal lists and maintains the highest clinical standards.

The Practice runs a Nurse led minor injuries unit from Whitstable Health Centre and also runs its own Diabetic, Asthma, Hypertension, Well Woman, Well Person and Family Planning Clinics, The Practice has a continuous programme of auditing its work and has been involved in research over recent years. The Practice runs its own educational programme, which is PGEA approved.

GP Registrars are given ample opportunity for study, research and audit to fully explore General Practice. The Practice is fully computerised although paper records are still in use.

Out of hours cover is provided by CANDOC GP Co-operative of which one Partner is a Medical Manager and another a Trustee.

The Practice did take a leading role in the recent multifund, which ended with the onset of Primary Care Groups. One Partner is the Primary Care Group Chairman and another is on the Board. All members of the Primary Care Team are available to offer help and support to any Registrar working within the Practice.

The Registrar has his/her own well-equipped room. Dr Turner welcomes interested potential Registrars to visit.
