This last bit had me stumped. I had all the hardware configured,
and badly needed to figure out the EEPROM contents to allow the 82558 to
configure itself properly. Problem is that Intel will only give the EEprom
Update code to board level manufacturing OEM's.
Hhhmmm........Undefeated a quick search on Alta Vista looking for EEUPDATE
found a Hitachi site in Japan: (www.hitachi.co.jp/Prod/comp/OSD/pc/dat_h/82558_res.htm)
with the required files and some uninteligible instructions.
Needless to say I figured it out and had it up and running in about an hour!!
OK..... *I* thought it was interesting!!!
