Today, I was told to carve the railings on one of the ships that would be used in the procession at the celebration. I was scolded for taking too long to figure out exactly what I wanted to create with it. Once I had finished, however, Erequ thought it looked pretty good. He told me to keep up the good work.
The celebration is five days away. We are running around with our heads cut off trying to tie up all the loose ends. I have been busy in town mending fences and fixing the walls of some of the homes and gardens. The fortress is ready for the celebration. I hope our people are.
Today, I recieved a letter from the current leader of our diminishing clan
asking for my help in some matter. I went to Storm Watch to find out
exactly what was up. There, I met 6 others. An Obsidiman Illusionist,
an Elven Calvaryman, a Dwarf Thief, a Human Warrior, a T'Skrang Scout,
and my friend Brodan the Troll Warrior was also there.
The rest is an overview of Arbane's journal..... Time passes, our group performs some work for the Troll Moot, and through an adventure we are subsequently thrown out of the moot, and most of the general area for a year and a day. Our wanderings lead us through Kratus and up to the rivers where we help some people get rid of a Krescra. It is found out that there is some connection between the people who were infected with the Krescra, and a group of adventureers known as 'The Nights of the Weeping Veil'. The group takes ship toward Travar and the Uras to find out anything they can about a bow and a sword that they found in a Kaer down near Culven's Ride when they performed the 'duty' for Storm Watch. On the boat, there are several slaves whom the group helps to escape, while also helping a rival T'Skrang house to blow the boat to bits. The group is tracked down, and itis found that one of the people that was a slave is a servant of a minor dragon that lives in the Servos. At some point, the people tracking the group are destroyed by that dragon.
The group meets the tribe of people whom the slaves belongs to and agrees to help them find the towns adept who has been gone for two weeks. The group heads into the area known as the Griffon Falls and finds the village adept. The village adept has found a Kaer but cannot open it up.
The group helps open the Kaer which still has people inside. A lost house of T'Skrang who call themselves 'Henyok'. The Henyok are currently known as pirates and slavers, but the lost tribe inside the Kaer are the true house. It is found that one of the inhabitants of the Kaer was corrupted, and through bits of magic was able to open a 'back door' to the Kaer. Over years, that adept had managed to create the new house of Henyok with its bad reputation. One of the inhabitants of the Kaer also worked with the adept who left and had joined with him as a Screaming Mask (read Gram's journal).
The group received help from the Kaer inhabitants and they tried to kill
the adept who had destroyed the house. The adept was already dead,
but was kept alive by a horror of some type. The group lost the body
of the adept downstream.
The group decided that the new house Henyok should have an aly, and
decided to travel with an ambassador of the new house to Vestrimon to
ask for their help in establishing the new house Henyok. Along the way,
they encounter a group of adepts who have become corrupt, and
with help from the Darranis guards they wipe out that group. Then they
go down to Vestrimon.
From Vestrimon, they make there way to Urupa. In Urupa, they
use there money to get some things they want. They also help out a
merchant. This merchant had been selling mushrooms that turned out
to be cursed. A Nethermancer in town had been using the mushrooms which
enable Nethermancers to perform easier and more powerful summonings.
She also had heard of 'The Screaming masks', and had envited two of them
to her house so that she could become one to.
The group (with the help of a Questor Of Mynbruje - a Wizard) stopped
the ritual that was being performed to create the screaming mask,
and subdued one of the other screaming masks. All of the masks were
immediately destroyed by Arbane. One of the screaming masks had
died in the battle, but become a shadowy figure that slumped into
the ground and was gone.
The group decided to follow up on the supplier of the mushrooms in
Bartertown. A guy by the name of Paris.
At this point of the overview, here is a list of Arbane's stuff.
A Bear - Grr (Arbane's companion) A wardog - Fidge A 30' Alligator Not named (Left on the Coil River somewhere near Ax....) A pair of Armbands (Bracers) getting looked at in V'strimon. Lots of money. Troll War Axe. Miscellanous other stuff. The group finds information about Paris and follow up on that. The information includes the name of the Mushroom supplier. The group goes into the mountains to find Paris and the supplier. His house is found, but everyone is dead. It is found that a Basilisk had been kept as this guys menagerie and it had gotten out of its cage and killed everyone. The group fights the Basilisk and take its head, and return to Thrull.
Here is an exerpt from Arbane's journal:
The alarm startled me a little when the little Dwarf came running into the room and attempted to push me out and down the hall. 'You must leave' he kept saying. As we reached the outer doors of the library, they were closed behind us. The dwarf motioned our group to one end of the library. The alarm we learned was from someone destroying the air crystals that keep fresh air in the library flowing. The dwarf wanted to make sure everyone was out. We noted to the dwaves that if someone did destroy the crystals that they probably want to be in the library alone. The dwarves agree. The agent of Thrull gave us back the pin that was used earlier to spy on us, and we place it on Precaht. Precaht flew into a portal to get into the library without having to open the door (the portal was created by one of the dwarves). We watched on a small crystal as Precaht flew around the inside of the library. The group watched Precaht and then watched as he went down to the groud. The group rushed down another corridor to get closer to where Precaht was. The group is joined by an Archer whom had also been in the library. The group storms through the doorway and comes upon a group. There is a fight where the attackers can change form into anyone they see. Arbane fights his double. Upstairs in the row of books, the group find a Wizard and fight with him. One of the attackers is subdued by Precaht and we finish off the others. The next day, we rest up and take baths. Someone coins the phrase 'the Defenders of the Scrolls'.
The next day, the Dwarven theif in the group comes up missing. After looking for him, the group finds him back at the inn where we find that his family had tracked him down and told him of a quest that they needed him to go on. He performed a blood oath with them and we decided (as a group) to agree to the quest. The group returns to Uropa to check on thier things that are being looked at there. They leave Uropa after a few days and head towards the Scytha mountains to do the quest. At one point, the group finds that they are being followed by the evil T'skrang that they fought before. The group finds this out because one of the dogs gets all huffy puffy and mean. Arbane notes in his journal that he prayed to Jaspree to help the animals. After being distracted for a time from a wagon down the road, the group returns to their animals to find them well and no problems. The group attempts to capture the evil T'skrang, but he is too fast for them in the water.
Making camp, the group is awoken by Ky who is on watch. A stranger has entered the camp and says that he is an immesary of Mountainshadow. The group takes a trip on an Air Ship, and arrives in the Thunder Mountains and talks with Mountainshadow. It is told to them that a great evil has been opened upon the world (or that it will open soon) and that the group must get to the northern slope of the Syrtis mountains to thwart whatever it is. There are agents of the evil that the group is supposed to get rid of. The group finds themselves back at camp as if nothing had happened, and it is the same time that they left.
The group leaves camp and travels north. Just south of Vorst, the group comes across a small village. The village seems nice, and the group stays and is greeted with some sort of celebration. In the morning, it is found that a creature of some type had come into the village and stole some supplies and the food from the night before. The group tracks down this creature which turns out to be a girl of about 12 years. It is found that this girl had become a questor of some type to Gaspree and was taking care of the children from the village who came up deformed in some way over the years. The villagers set their children out in the wilds to basically die, and this girl comes and takes care of them. The group returns to the village and states that the girl is a questor of some type, the villagers are sorry for what they did and begin treating the old Kaer as a brand new Temple to Garlan.
Just north of Vorst, the group come upon an area of the forest that has been recently burned. In this forest the group finds (previously hidden) a villa of some type. The villa contains 2 horror constructs (Things with tentacles and poison tiped pokers). The group kills the constructs (after Arbane is totally paralysed). The group stays there a couple of days to recoup.
The group finds an old journal (written in Theran) and they find out that this used to be a wine growers villa. There are 7 wine casks down stairs.
The group takes some samples of the wine to Denlikeyan to see if anyone is interrested. The group finds a wine merchant. It is at this poing that the group finds out that the feats in Thrull have gotten them some well known renoun here in Denlikeyan. They are given 10,000 for the location of the wine.
The group travels north to Tansiarda and takes a boat north to the small village where we are to begin our quest.
The quest itself is to find out what has happened to the settlement created by (The Dwarf Thief's family). It is said that his family had a settlement here but that they lost contact with them. The group comes across the settlement, but it has been destroyed. The settlement was hit from above by a stone ship, and with large rectangle pieces of stone dropped from above. The stone pieces have Trollish writing on them. After doing some tracking, the group finds the remaining settlers underground and begin talking with them. It seems that a few months back (6) the attackers came. The other settlements further up in the mountain have not been hit, and some times they come down the mountain to help out this settlement.
That is where we currently are...
