At this point in the journal, the item that the group is looking for is described in more detail.
It is supposed to be a box, with a spider on it.(The spider box).
The group does some research in Haven to find out the best way to get to the Vaults. This includes finding an underground tunnel where one Nethromancer had lived, but the group desides to go into Parlainth from the surface.
In addition, Gram mentions that the group has desided to help out the villages around Parlainth who have been attacked and all the men have been taken. One of the villages, Caryss knows well, and the group finds out some more about the attackers.
It is also mentioned that the group finds some guantlets of nethromantic might. Gram adds that to his list of stuff to research.

At this point in the journal, Gram reports that three more have joined "The Seekers".
Over the course of the 4 weeks the group has been resting up and training themselves, three adventurers have joined the group. Gram adds them to his list of group members:

Odan - An Elven Warrior
Zandamar - An Elven Spiritual Monk
*** - A human weaponsmaster (the name has been scibbled out)

Continuing with the Journal-
The group plans to take the outer wall of Parlainth up to the far northern gate. During the journey, the group finds a large band of warriors who have made a portion of the vaults their home.
It is later found that this band is under the direct ownership and leadership of one 'Charcoalgrin' - a dragon.
The group meets with 'Charcoalgrin' who they ask if they can search the vaults for an item without intervention from the band of warriors. 'Charcoalgrin' agrees, but only if the group does her a favor. The journal writes about one of 'Charcoalgrin's' band who descided to follow another. He had betrayed 'Charcoalgrin' and had gone under the vaults with his new leader. All attempts to have 'Charcoalgrin's' remaining men go into the vaults after him has ended up in failure and death. The group is to find him and slay him.
There is mention now of a great evil in the vaults. The group finds a band of creatures that Gram describes:
"These are creatures the likes which even Kilakuk has never
seen. They used to be name-givers I think. They seem to be of
every name-giver race except Windling and Obsidimen thank the
rock. The upper body is that of themselves, but the lower
portion has a spider's body. But it is not a man-spider. No.
This is a whole spider, with a head and legs. The mouth of this
terrible beast is turned upright so as to accept the body that
it's teeth now encircle. It is two separate patterns, yet one
controlling. To attempt to remove the body would no doubt end
up in the demise of the name-giver. Which would not be all that
bad considering the alternative."
The band that the group finds has retained their own minds and left the evil that created them. It is found out that there is one leader who has created these creatures from the name-givers that they have captured from the villages around Parlainth. In addition, the group finds out that the leader has a captain who leads his men in battle to attain these name-givers. This captain is the one who the group must kill for 'Charcoalgrin'.
Through help of the spidmen, as Gram calls them, the group finds an underground well through which they can enter the vault. At one point in the tunnel, the journal mentions that the Weaponsmaster causes a cave-in and is killed.
Once the rubble is cleared, the group makes their way to an area where there are more spidmen. The group has a small battle with them, and they find the captain also. In the attempt to kill the captain, we find a bottle of some sort and a box with bracelets in it. The group finds out that the captain has disappeared into the bottle by putting on one of these bracelets. The group does the same and are whisked to a dream like state.
This portion of the journal is a bit confusing as it seems to switch back and forth between dream like and reality. Gram describes his surroundings:
"The ground is unearthly and makes my whole being shudder, the
air is thick with water and causes most of us to gasp for
fresh. Up is not up, down is not down. There is only the
direction we are travelling. I cannot determine if I am being
pulled there, or pushed."

The next entry describes a fork in the road with a unreadable sign in the middle of this dream-like world. The group chooses to take the right fork, or is it down? Gram is unsure. Inside this area, the group finds the Passion Garlan chained to a wall in a dungeon. She is crying and her tears turn to thread that she creates a veil out of. She says that the being who imprisoned her has the 'spider-box' and is corrupting it to create a permanent doorway for his master to enter through. We must use the veil on the box to restore it's purety, and destroy the Horror infestation.
The group returns to the fork in the path and takes the right(up) direction.
In this place, the group finds themselves faced with many of the spidmen and makes a run through this guantlet to find the box. Winton uses his flute to confuse the spidmen as the group makes it's way into a large room where the captain, and the Horror await. The group kills the Horror and the captain and returns the body to 'Charcoalgrin'. They also keep the box.

The group returns to Haven after saying a fairwell to the friendly spidmen. In Haven, they contact the wizard's daughter and perform the deed that they were intrusted with, bringing her back from the dead.

The next few entries into the journal describe a period of resting and training. It mentions something about another windling in Haven whom they have intrusted their belongings. This windling as it seems is also a 'good friend' of Cyrix.
The ritual of the Group Thread is described in the journal next. And the group decides upon a new name, 'The Knights of the Weeping Veil".
The group is joined for adventuring by a Windling Elementalist.
Gram lists some more of the items that the group has aquired:

A small Bone tree.
Some figurines.
The Spider Box.
A net of elemental water.
A ring
Some healing potions
Somewhere around 25,000 silver.
Some hardware from an Armoir
A mummified hand.

The group decides in the next journal entry to travel to Travar.
