Gram notes that the temple before the group is enormous, and has many spires. There are also hundreds of witch riders in formations around the temple. The witch riders seem to ignore the group. One witch rider allows the group into the fortress, and into the courtyard, and then escorts them to a waiting room before they get to the audience chamber. The group waits for a while, and then is taken to the audience chamber by a priest of some type. Gram finds some writing on one of the walls of the entrance, and successfully gains the ability to read and write it. Gram calls this language 'screaming god'.

In the audience chamber, there are a few witch rider solgiers who align the entrance to the great hall. The priest uses a scepter with a ball on the end to summon minions of the 'god'. Once movement is seen within a curtained area to the front of the hall, the group attacks.

The minion that enters the room is described as a cross between a Thunder Beast and an Aligator, although it is much bigger.

The creature lets out a curdling scream which disorientates and immobalizes everyone in the room, including the witch riders. Gram is the only one unaffected, as his will is strong when it comes to defending his bretheren.
Gram casts a counterspell and gives this added benefit to the Knights. While the witch riders seem to be still immoble, Angaren and Odan rush forward to attack, only to be blocked by the priest. The creature turns to leave, and Odan leaps through the curtained area through some type of portal and into the area beyond. Cyrix follows behind Odan, and the rest of the group help Angaren with the priest. When it seems that the priest is about to die, the party leaves the room. Gram enters the room behind through the portal and sees Odan standing over one of the creatures, holding the Veil over its face. The viel dissolves the face, and Odan continues with the other 4 creatures that are lying on altars around this back room. Gram notes that The t'schaka warrior is not among them. Gram returns to the audience chamber to find that the witch riders were just getting over the spell, and were waking up. Gram orders the clone of Angaren to take the form of the priest, and order the witch riders to withdrawl. Gram then returns to the room with Esamu.

Gram describes the scene and has some drawings...:

The portal is cold, like swimming through thick aspic. And
right before leaving the portal, it becomes increasingly hot.
The room beyond the audience chamber is filled with blood, and
melted remains of 5 creatures. One creature is still intact, and
is being looked over by Odan. There are 6 windowed areas through
which one can see faint images of the monks who were trapped by
the world tree. One of these (over the still intact creature)
was filled with blood, and no body could be seen.
The creature had no life left in it, and Odan feared that the
creature had already left its body and entered the body of the
one that was in the windowed area behind it. The windowed areas
were broken into, and the spirits of the monks came forth.
The one monk spirit, which body I had carried with me since the
beginning of this, entered his body, and was again whole.

To the back of the room was a door, and I asked the clone of the
priest, what was beyond? This is a crude drawing of the room in
question:

As noted from the picture above, the room beyond the room pictured was a vast room that was found to be the 'living' space of what was called the 'screaming god'. The place was death itself, and none of the members of the party could even enter. The journal continues with explaining the screaming god, and the priest. The priest/clone turns out to be a wizard/nethromancer of the 6th/4th circles. It is also found from the priest, that the group could use the portal to go almost anywhere in the 'screaming god's' relm. It is decided to have the priest/clone go back down and get some supplies for the group. Including some healing potions if available. Then, the group would open a portal to the top of the world tree, and climb back down.

The journal continues with explaining this little feat of magic, and the importance of having the priest/clone with the group.

The group makes it to the top of the hill upon which they came into the other world, and they descend the tree.
At the bottom of the tree, it is found that indeed, one of the brothers had come around earlier than the others and had caused a great fire in the temple of the Harmonious Contemplation. Gram notes that the group does not emerge into Barsaive inside the temple, but instead they emerge on the hill of Jaspree, where the group had planted their own bone tree for safe keeping. Janice asks Jaspree for her help in closing the portal, and is blessed with Jaspree's presence, and continued favor.
