The Journal continues with the accounts of just how the group is getting from place to place. The head of the clan 'his lightningboltness' has agreed to lend the group some men, and a air ship for their journey back to Travar. This is more of a way to get rid of the group more than the guy being nice.
The group makes it to Travar uneventfully. The next accounts are about meeting back with the merchant who had hired to group in the first place to go to Culven's ride, and the group gets all the research that the merchant was able to dig up on the artifacts that were left in his care.
Back in culven's Ride, the books that Gram looked through also describe the process of totally destroying the horror within the life-rock. An extra Obsidiman was also present when the horror was locked up inside the life-rock. He is called the 'Heart Stone'. When the group meets up with the merchant, they tell him about their adventures, and he goes down his stairs to his cellar and brings back a stone - He has had it for a while, and the reason the Knights were sent to Culven's Ride in the first place was because the merchant wanted more information on the Stone...It turns out that the stone he has is the 'Heart Stone'.
Next, the group goes on it's own doing some individual business, as well as inquiring about the screaming masks group. It is found that some of the main people in Travar have come up missing, and some have been found dead. The group is hired to find the killers, and possibly to save the others that have been taken. The group lets it be known that they are looking for the masks, and at some point they are given a note that suggests the masks will attack the group that night. The knights set down in the merchant's home to wait for the attack.
During the attack, three of the six screaming masks are killed. Here is a brief explanation of what happened when they were slain:

Blood soiled the ground where the body lay-at the moment when
the life left the body - it screamed. An almost smile
froze across the face of each. The body buckled and then-
the chest was thrown open from inside. A hideous creature,
black and shadowy, crawled forth from each-screaming into
the night and vanishing from sight.

It is explained in the journal that these creatures are a product of the "screaming god's" curse upon the screaming masks, and that in killing the masks, the Knights created new horrors in Travar. After the attack, the group meets down in the cellar with the merchant and it is found that the heart is missing. After much searching, one of the screaming masks is found hidden in the shadows..Seems as though that they were after the heart..The mask is killed...unfortunatly before anyone can say otherwise, and another horror is loosed upon Barsaive.
The Knights decide to return to Culven's Ride to possibly perform the ritual that will destroy the horror within the life rock. Since it seems so important to the masks.
The trip back is uneventful except for a little matter of finding a spy among the passengers. This spy is supposed to inquire about certain objects that the group has, and report back to certain merchants in Travar about the possibility of purchacing them. When it is found that the items are not for sale, he decides to change his line of work...
Before reaching Culven's Ride, the group sees that it is under attack by several Troll Moots. The group goes in under the storm that is being created and lands. Then, while Odahn jumps to help the Trolls fend off the attack, the others go down into the castle. There is a feeling that the defence of the castle and town are causing the Horror to grow in power. The overwhelming feeling that the Horror was attempting to get out of the Life-Rock makes Gram and the others run to the underground resting place of the Life-Rock. Gram performs the ritual neccessary to place the heart inside the Life-rock, and destroys the horror. Unfortunatly, this act also destroys the life-rock, and the Obsidimen contained within. This is that account...

I layed there against the now cold side of the rock
that had once been warm with life. My whole being
sank, my thoughts were of returning to my own Life-Rock,
and making sure everything was alright with it..even
though I knew nothing was wrong. I layed there for what
seemed like an eternity, and then my thoughts again
returned as usual to Astendar. I would go back to
Travar, and I would train to become the greatest
sculpter I could become..Then I would return to
this now dead Life-Rock, and carve Astendar a statue.
Again I dedicate my thoughts to you...Astendar...although
I hesitate to dedicate my life...

The group stays in Culven's ride a few extra weeks to help the poeple get back to a normal way of life. Gram desides to train to become a WeaponSmith. The group returns to Travar, and now has perfect recollection of it. The merchant friend begins trade agreements with Culven's ride, and takes on more business. The group finds out that one of the Shadows has been captured and goes to the place to find out about it. It is learned about where the others have gone (approx) and the group desides to follow one to Thrull. It has been a while since the group brought forth their journals to the great library, so this seems like a good idea. Meanwhile, the group stays in Travar for quite a few weeks. During this time, Gram trains with an Obsidiman Wizard. Also, Gram continues to train in sculpting with the Questor's of Astendar, and takes care of a special plant that he carried with him from Cilla's home.
