Churchill Downs, in Louisville Kentucky, is one of the most famous sites in Kentucky. On the first Saturday in May each year, the first leg of the Triple Crown is run...the Kentucky Derby. The first Kentucky Derby race was held in 1875. This year marked the 126th "Run for the Roses"
The Downs sits on 147 acres. It seats 48,500 people. The famous "twin spires" of the downs was created in 1894. |

Cumberland Falls is in the Daniel Boone National Forest, in eastern Kentucky. The Falls is 125 ft. wide and drops over 60 feet. On a clear night during a full moon, the mist of the Falls creates a "moonbow"-similar to a rainbow. This unique phenomenon appears no where else in the western hemisphere. |

This famous mansion in Bardstown Kentucky, is the home that symbolizes Stephen Foster's most endearing song, "My Old Kentucky Home", written in 1853. Foster was a guest of his cousins, the Rowans, in the mansion when he wrote the song. The mansion rests on 285 acres. |

Louisville is the home of the famous "Louisville Slugger" headquarters and museum. The first wooden bat, by "Bud" Hillerich, was made in 1884. The company now produces more than 1.4 million bats per year.
The World's Largest Bat was erected in 1995 in front of the headquarters and museum. The bat stands 120 feet high. |
