For those members that don’t make it to the monthly meetings. There is a lot I don’t put down in this communication that does go on at our meetings.  I just give you the “Reader’s Digest version. You should show-up and participate yourself. The March meeting started off with a cleanup of the rifle range. The members would like to remind people to pick up their targets and garbage when they leave. The Big Buck dinner date has not been set yet. It looks like the road rally will be on April 18th. Also the club is looking at putting on an open house this year in lieu of a big game dinner. There will be various activities set up that the club promotes, Sporting clays, archery, .22 shoot, and maybe fly fishing instruction. We are trying to set this up for May 23rd. The annual Archery shoot date has been set for Sept 5-6. The family fish day is going to be on June 21st. The club is going to buy a 7mm MK5 Weatherby magnum to raffle off, watch for tickets at our up coming events. The club is looking for a member to represent us at the yearly BCWF AGM from April 22-26 in Fernie, the club will cover expenses incurred during the trip. A youth camp is being held at the Courtenay Fish and Game Protective Assosiation on Comox Lake The date is from July 20-23 and up to two kids from each BC Wildlife Federation club on Vancouver Island can be enrolled. Boys or girls can sign up but they must be between 10 and 14 years. The activities will be regular camping activities plus archery, orienteering, swimming and pellet gun shooting. They are looking for cots and tents if anyone has them. We will be looking to have an essay contest to send 2 junior members. Also another boating course might be put on by Melinda Dennison on the Easter long weekend if there is enough interest. Thank you for supporting your local Rod and Gun Club.
