First Weekend of August, 2003

Beautiful Presqu'ile Park, the location of the annual "History Weekend." It was at this local that an 1812 encampment was set up. (The red dot indicates where we were.)

Presqu'ile was an opportunity to extend the high school reenactment club into the summer. Here you can see Geoff, Veronica, and Stephanie interpret life in 1812 to the general public. They're standing in front of a quilt, upon which a variey if different artifacts are placed.

Another shot of our intrepid interpreters.

A good view of our encampment. You can see the single pole marquees, some of the public, and Athanee in the background.

The encampment even had an artisan on duty! Leather working demonstrations were carried out, under our canvas fly. The shelter also served us well when it rained (which it did a great deal this weekend!)

Tim and Athanee, with the public. In the lefthand corner, you can see our large, double-pole marquee.
