The Norwood contingent of Canadian
Fencibles was first organized by Norm
Vandenberg to serve for military tattoos,
rememberance day parades, and other various functions. It was
not until the Norwood 1812 reenactment in 2000 that the unit actually
"fired their guns in anger." Currently, the school can
uniform 16 other ranks, 2 ensigns, and 2 musicians. The unit also
has a colour. Recently, the Norwood Canadian Fencibles benefitted
from national attention, when a picture of them was featured in
the Globe and Mail. The oldest and most storied student unit involved
in the 1812 event, they set the bar for other student groups at
our re-enactments.
